15 OCT 2026: WEEK 5 DONE!

In the real-world NFL, week 5 turned out to be a week of wild finishes and chaotic drama. At London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Jaguars defeated the Eagles with some late-game heroics, scoring two field goals in the dying seconds; while back at the Northwest Stadium, the Commanders and Giants battled to a crazy 27-27 tie as the Commanders realised too late that they were out of timeouts. To finish the week off, the Bills and the Rams both made calamitous mistakes in overtime, with a fumble and blocked kick seeing a dramatic game swing first one way, then another in what ended a narrow win for the Bills. So did the performances on the NFL Retro Bowl '27 Championship leaderboard match the real-world?

Well, the first matchup didn’t go to script: on the leaderboard the Eagles posted a huge score of 15,387,670, nearly twice as big as the Jaguars’ score. The good news for the Jaguars is that they move up a place and off the bottom of the table. The bad news is that’s mostly thanks to the Panthers not posting a score due to their bye week. The Commanders fared better than their real-life counterparts by defeating the Giants and moving up to 15th, but it was a very, very close thing with fans of both teams posting very competitive scores. But it’s the last of the fixtures that matches the real-world NFL results, with the Bills handing a defeat to the Rams to keep the pressure on the chasing pack at the top of the table. 

At the summit, the 49ers continue to occupy the top spot, but for the second week in a row they were outscored by the Ravens who continue to close the gap. It’s the Ravens who posted the top score of the week again with a mightily impressive 15,505,776. Of course, it’s still only week 5, and you the players can change everything as we enter Week 6! Another couple of updates for Retro Bowl games! Some more players and a couple of minor fixes for NFL Retro Bowl '27, while Retro Bowl and Retro Bowl College get a fix for Bluetooth controllers and App switching. Enjoy!

07 October 2026: In the real-world NFL, week 4 turned out to be a big week for teams on the road, with the Patriots scoring a win over the Bills; the Cowboys winning an all-Texas affair against the Texans; the Rams making a dramatic comeback against the Eagles; and despite neither team being geographically at home, the Colts as the nominated away team came back after a slow start to defeat the Commanders in London. So did the performances on the NFL Retro Bowl '27 Championship leaderboard match the real-world?

Well, the first matchup didn’t go to script: on the leaderboard the Bills gave the Patriots something of a thrashing, winning with a score of 13.5m to the Patriots’ 8.6m, keeping the Bills in 4th and closing the gap to the Eagles in 3rd. The Rams also couldn’t replicate their win against the Eagles, and were comfortably defeated, dropping a place to 13th. The other two fixtures matched the real-world NFL results though, with the Cowboys’ beating the Texans handily, and the Colts proving too much for the Commanders who, despite the defeat, still managed to outscore the teams around them and climb one place to 18th on the leaderboard.

At the top of the table, the 49ers continue to occupy the top spot, but for the first week of the season they were not the top scorers. That honour goes to the Ravens who posted an enormous score of more than 14m to defeat the Titans and close the gap to the 49ers at the top.
