Default The best New Star Soccer?

    Hi!

What do you think is the best New Star Soccer and why?

I am only interested in the opinions of the people who have played all, or at least more than one parts of this Game.

I'm looking forward to the responses of the NSS-veterans! ;-)

    Greetings from Austria

    Well,

I only started at NSS3,I found it on home of the underdogs, which is a website for old games and I loved the day I found NSS3

I played 1 and 2 very briefly and couldn't bear them after NSS3,you have to play not watch text I feel.NSS4 is my fave, but NSS3 was better at the time as it was surprising for me to find a game like it.

EDIT:Nice to see people posting on the NSS4 forum,it was dead around here for about a week or so.

Technically, and in terms of the match engine, I'd have to say NSS4. I really enjoyed my fledgling career before the 1 laptop I could play it on met an unfortunate end. But there's something about NSS3 that makes it a little more 'cosy' and easier to get on with I think.

As much as the text games were a welcome break, I couldn't go back and play them now

Close call between 3 and 4 then, where I'd probably plump for 4, purely in terms of the advancements made on 3 in terms of engine and interface.

I've played the trials of three and two, but without a doubt i have to say that my favourite is 4. Even if it was a little bit bugged at first, it doesnt matter, it is my favourite hands down.

First of all, thank you for your answers!

It is perhaps also interesting how the game has been found his way on your PC, like Conway describe.

I have found this great game in a Internet Forum(Meistertrainerforum=Footballmanager Forum) and I think I play it my whole life - provided there is a NSS 50? ;-)

Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand me anyway....

I'm going to say NSS3 is my favourite as I played that way more then NSS4, Don't get me wrong, NSS4 is a great game, and I still play it now and again, but NSS3 just had that special something that made me play it over and over, some nights I'd get so addicted that I wouldn't stop playing until the damn sun came up!

As for where I found out about New Star Games, it was at a website called Mpiremall.net, a great forum with a brilliant bunch of members.

Don't worry about your English by the way Volker83, I can understand you perfectly mate.

I started playing NSS when NSS3 was being made and when NSS1 was still paid, and well, NSS1 just was brilliant at that time while NSS2 had nearly more of the same, but was slightly heavier and my pc wasn't great back then. I then stopped playing NSS for a long time, probably because of the 10 match limit, and then I went back to it when NSS3 was out. I sticked with the 10 match limit again for a long time and in 2007, I joined the forum to get a free code for NSS1, where I spent many days. In 2008, a friend gave me a free code for NSS3 and I just got bloody addicted, that was it. I spent weeks, months playing it nonstop (obviously sleep and school got in the way right!) until I got my new laptop, which made it nearly impossible to play because Microsoft made Vista, and Vista just used up every bit of memory it could to make it impossible to play a good 2D game. In the same day I got my laptop, NSS4 had been out for a week and I just couldn't wait to try it because my old pc couldn't run it (well, properly at least) and I got hooked, but for not as long as I did with NSS3. I still play NSS4 now and then, but I think that NSS3 is the best NSS Si has ever made.

I have to say NSS3 it was easy playable and a fun game to play and it mixed the great gameplay of Sensible Soccer with the great system introduced in NSS2...

NSS3 for me. I enjoy NSS4, make no mistake, but I've spent a lot more time on NSS3.

I can not even compare the NSS4 with the previous versions... NSS4 for sure! (in my opinion, one of the best football games of all time).

Thanks to all for your thoughts!

I would also be interested in what the "creator" thinks - perhaps he writes something about this.

The third is my favourite, but only because I had a cracking career on it, blitzing through the leagues and then onto the world stage, winning the European Championships with the Faroe Islands. I think the fourth game is the best yet in terms of match engine, but I've yet to get into it in the same way. Been pretty busy though!

Overhauls, as NSS4 was, are always tough to get right, but I think the gameplay's been kept pretty consistent despite the leap to 3D.

I still like 3 the best, since you had to trial for a club, among other stuff
    2 for it's simplicity

I'd love if 2 was made into a mobile game

Ive played the first one to death, and I tried the 2nd one but it was too much of the same really. Just been playing the 3rd one and its absolute mint, but ill try the 4th next, then decide which one im going to purchase alongside NSGP.

I guess my would be NSS3. It has patches for crests, club names, etc and NSS4 has it as well, I just think NSS3 is better.
    One fault about it.
    Captains aren't in it.
