    Default Awesome game, but I have a couple of criticisms

    Please don't take this is nit-picking or abject negativity - I really love this game and am just looking for a few tweaks to help make it better!

    The game does not advance after a race if I select to do 60 laps. 10-50 all progress fine, but 60 will just crash the game when I select continue after the race has finished.

    It rains far too often. There should be a much lower occurrence of it. Also I think I'd like to see performance differ even more in the wet - I can still do 1.29's in the wet in australia. Don't get me wrong, I love the rain, but I want it to be something a bit unusual and a bit special - at the moment you just fill up your car as much as possible knowing that your pit strategy will be decided on when it starts raining.

    Tyre condition seem to have no effect on the game, and degrades so slowly as to be meaningless.

    When you start a race/practice/qualifying you should be able to reduce your fuel load from half-way. Also unless I am being blind and can't see it could you also add a counter for the number of laps of fuel when refuelling please!

    But for me the biggest problem is back markers. They fully 100% race you, to the point of trying to dive up the inside of you if you want to take a corner a bit slower/differently, bashing into you if you are level with them etc. At the moment the biggest challenge is trying to lap people because they hit you so many times - not an issue if you are racing them for position, but backmarkers shouldn't be so aggressive. Additionally the computer cars have trouble overtaking them as well. Winning a race seems to be focused on how trouble free you can get past the backmarkers, and less on actually racing the other fast cars.

    Love this game, but if you could tweak these few things I think it'd be even better! Thanks

    i fully agree, except for that part of knowing the number of laps you are refueling for, that would make that part less exciting.

    Default Excellent

    hello guys im new here, and ive played the demo at work for a week, and i couldnt believe how good this f1 game was. its got everything from the pit strategies to the on track dueling, also correct tracks. (and with excellent mods ie:floweb) all the proper liveries and names. Now ive played a load of f1 games (some crap some good) in my time starting from the c64 game slicks n super monaco gp on megadrive to the geoff crammond games in the 90s (which nsgp reminds me off slightly), all the way to the sony one on the ps3, and this is just as enjoyable if not better than some ie EA versions lol, thanks to the guy they call si' and the team, your work is great!!

    But if i were to comment changes/suggestions=
    -i would agree with the wet weather being improved,maybe slightly slowed down to make more hazardous creating more carefull driving.
    -Also im not sure about the fueling readouts i agrees sometimes it leaves you short , but on the other hand i agree with the uncertainty of it and the skill in which to determine your race outcome, im not sure about this subject
    -couldnt there be other activities to do with friends? when friends ask you to meet up rather than just saying yes,(thats it friend happy) maybe you should beat them round a track in a road car, or take them for a test drive lol and scare the crap out of them for money.
    -I also agree with someone saying about home races giving u a fan boost if u do well.
    -maybe another suggestion, instead of replacing a driver (with personal name), couldnt you have the option to play as an existing driver
    -What if you were given a manufacturers road car if u did well beat teamate in c'ship, or win consecutive races.
    -How about corner cutting penalties
    -Maybe driver reputation ie: if you hit someone badly you damage rep amongst drivers, somehow effecting your starts or morale (make slower)
    -Rains frequency far too much
    -wets in dry weather should be a little more punishable, n vice versa

    these are just some ideas of thought of?heard somewhere, im not moaning or picking i love this game, just tryiong to help im prove in the future.
    Anyway thanks again i will be visiting this forum regulary, im a huge fan of f1 and the games and sims created.
    cheers dan

    Yesterday I finished my first season of play.

    So... that's a GREAT game!!!

    There are little problems, right, but it's fantastic.

    However, the problems......
    ...unlikely the user posting, I liked the backmarkers 'mood'.

    The real problem is that is too easy to drive in wet with dry tyres, and viceversa:
    The CPU machines slow down whereas you, the intelligent player, press the speed pedal to the extreme.
    Too easy way to overtake 7-10 cars so.

    Another problem is the durability of the tyres... too strong, it's hard to corrupt the tyres until lose the grip.

    I played the season with a 25-laps races, and seemed pretty realistic.
    Only that small things must be corrected.

    Si, great work

    ----EDIT:----

    Another thing -only for the show pleasure-:

    The cars can't get on one on another.
    The F1 cars with their uncovered wheels, could get on and '''fly''' when crashing in certain situations.
    I suppose the 2D engine of the game is too simple to manage that complex incidents, so isn't an important thing to add.
    But if it could be possible to add, it will be a great visual improvement.
    I talked about the crashes... then, another graphical step ahead will be the visible damages on the 'wreck cars', with tails and other parts lost on the track during the race.

    Ideas for a NSGP2, uh?

    Maybe you should try Hard difficulty. I however experience many troubles on Medium but that's cos I'm a pansy

    I'm not saying that "medium" is too easy for me, only that certain circumstances give advantage to the player

    Sure I'll play some other seasons in medium difficulty, then I'll try the Hard

    off conversation but i just won a race on med by not coming in for wets when it rained i stayed out on slicks for about 45% of the race and won.
    It needs to be much much harder to drive in the wet on slicks!!!

    **Also skipping qualifying just stops the times as of skipping, it doesnt simulate the other times till the end. (easy way to cheat once on pole)

    Annoyingly I find Extreme a little easy. I got something like 60 points in a Force India on extreme because I pick up easy wins on certain circuits (Valencia, Nurburgring and Hungary particularly).

    Im in my 6th season doing 10 lap races (Perhaps the short races are what makes it easy?) and I'm a 3 time WDC with 2 from Brawn and 1 at Williams.

    Does altering the engine.ini change the performance of the AI?
    I too find the extreme difficulty extremely easy. If all you had were 3 levels of difficulty I'd understand but "extreme" should be what "nightmare" is in many FPS and RPG games and winning the very first race of the season on extreme difficulty with Form Indie is hardly a nightmare

    I actually end up winning the championship easily in all but the very worst cars

    Yes, I believe you can change the AI's speed in the Engine.ini file, in New Star GP\Settings, or in a Mod folder.

    You need to change one of these lines, close to the end of the file:

    comspeed_easy=1000
    comspeed_normal=2500
    comspeed_hard=5000
    comspeed_extreme=7500

    The bigger the number, harder the the game will be.

    I can't guarantee it'll work though...

    What do you mean?

    Btw I've been playing with the engine.ini values and I'm not sure the AI gets better... I can beat them whatever the number I put.
