Problem with Controller

Last night, the controls were fine, but today, my controller refuses to work. I've seen if it works in other programs, and tested it in control panel, and it's fine, but when I try to play or reassign the controller buttons, there's no response. I've tried to reinstall and started new games, but still no response.

Using version 3.16 of NSS3. Halp plz.

What controller / adaptor are you using? The fact they worked fine yesterday says to me it's an issue with your PC / hardware rather than a problem with NSS3, so off the bat I'm going to say that if you're using a PS2 controller adaptor, are you sure you've plugged it into 'Slot 1' and not 'Slot 2'?

its a logitech USB controller that looks like it's for a PS2. I discovered that when I try and assign directionals, there's no response, but when I try to assign buttons, it freezes, but allows me to exit.
