    Bit of both.

Gerrad, Lampard, Rooney, and other footballer.

They would not have even tried. Alonso took his chances, and took it well, but a bit lucky with the keeper.

lol underhit it???? from 70 yards??? It was a great goal plain and simple. Like Beckhams against Wimbledon they know how far the keeper is off the line and that they can beat them from there. Alonso just knew he would score. Imagine if he did that and the ball just landed in the keepers arms!!! Everybody would have been well annoyed that he gave the ball away. Great goal

Well, I'm a goalkeeper, and this goal.. Never happen with me...
A bit of luck to Alonso and a lot of unluck to Goalkeeper..

But, who saw the keeper stumbling?

Yeah you may be a goalkeeper but I would bet my bottom dollar you aint played against Alonso either. It's like me saying I am a full back so what I have never gone up against Premiership opposition so I don't know how good I am.

Ok you can say it was luck but if that is the fact then all goals require a bit of luck. A deflection here, a scuff there...but this goal had it all. Pace, vision, strength, ability. He knew he was going to score that goal which reduces the luck factor for me. Nobody shoots from 70 yards thinking they are going to miss!!! Fact!

If you are a Liverpool fan, you say great!

If you are other than Scoursers, you say keeper error.

I am not a Liverpool fan and I am not even from England so, I say that it is lucky for the player and bad luck for the goalie.

But you still have to give him credit for shooting that far out, if he had miss he would have been humiliated.

It was great aim from Alonso and just to spot Harper off his line that quickly was a thing of skill.

Overall, great goal from the spaniard!
