    Default Theo Walcott

I still can't believe this guy is in the England squad. I mean fair enough, he's a good player but surely he must not be ready for Premiership football if Wengers not playing him and SURELY no where near ready for something this big. Big, Big gamble for Sven, could cost him his job

lol like the gag ross. I have to admit I like the look of this Walcott but he is obviously no Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney cos at his age they were playing for England regularly. But Wenger reminds me of the old Liverpool managers. No matter how good you are at a young age you wouldn't break through until you were ready in his plans. Plus they wouldn't spend £12m on a dud teenager. I just hope it doesn't faze him.

I think I may have said this before but Theo Walcott is a great choice, a gamble but a choice.

No one will know him. Other managers will think "who is he" and not know if he is fast/good in the air etc. So they will not know how to deal with him. And the defence will not know what to do with him (ie stand off or tight marking).

So, for a couple of games at least, he will be a surprise wildcard.

I think that is what Sven is planning...

Well you never know I feel that this is a bit too early for him however as he doesn't have any experience at this a high a level and I feel Wenger is not playing him as he is not ready but who knows? I feel he'll break into the Arsenal team at some point next season, definately, if Henry leaves. That is who I feel Walcott will be replacing in the long term

Time will tell... when David Beckham is lifting the trophy after Wayne Rooney comes back into action for the final and grabs a hat-trick...then we will know if it was a good choice lol

I think it's crazy. He's only played a few games for Southampton (Southampton, for goodness' sake!) and hasn't even played in the Premiership yet, but he's in the squad ahead of proven goalscores Johnson, Defoe and Bent? Absolutely crazy.

Well there's two explanations for this:

    1) Walcott's skill in recent training events shows that he is better than the proven goalscorers and therefore SvenGo was right to pick him.

    2) The manager's a nutter.

I believe that it would be the first one. Obviously there would be a lot of media hype regarding Theo's selection but seeing as he probably won't start or even play in a World Cup game, SvenGo probably calculated the scenarios. You don't just pull names out of a hat, this wasn't just a 'who shall I pick now' type of decision, unless there were other factors we don't know about, which I doubt.

Walcott will do the business. Wenger is not an idiot and wouldn't splash that cash like he did. Maybe Bent and Defoe aint all they seem to be. Did Bent really trouble Man Utd last game of the season??? No offense to Man U but their defence aint the best and he missed some sitters so how will he cope with a solid World cup team? Defoe is a good player but is he an international player??? Let's face it they are a rare breed. Fowler is one of the greatest goal scorers of all time but could he get passed Teddy and Alan shearer in the England squad??? Nope. Same with Stan Collymore what a great player and also a complete muppet not England calibre.

    I agree wholly.

Wenger AND Sven would not chose Theo if he was rubbish. He may have not played many top level games but look at DJ, he came from nowwhere and is now playing at the highest levels of football.

For those who remain negative, please sit back and relax Just watch him play and then make up your mind.

And BTW I am not an Arsenal fan one bit so my words are not biast!

For those english out there - GIVE SVEN AND THEO A CHANCE
