NSGP Season 9 online suggestions

This thread is intended to start keeping a note of possible future changes to the NSGPOC. It is not intended in way to criticize the existing rules.

Now that we have already raced two weekends on the new version, i think it's worth to start making a poll of future questions to ask when time comes to make decisions about the next season of the competion.

Now, for the suggestions:

-appeal for RC (if there is still any need for the race control :p) should be extended from one to two hour after the finnish of each race;
-for voting purposes, the weight of each vote, should not only count last season's attendance, as well as prior seasons presences (p.e. if a driver participated in 18 races in season 8, but also participated in season 3 and 7 should have more "votes" then a player o participated in 20 races of season 8, but never competed before).

For now this is all i can remember, but feel free to post more ideas. I will certainly will

Added extention for appeals on the voting sheet; as for the vote weighting that causes a problem as voting opens tomorrow and we wouldn't be able to have a decision on it by then

I think that the president should be in RC. Thus, the presidential vote should be merged with steward vote. The person with most votes becomes president.

President doesn't do much really. If anything, HE should be the head of the RC.

Also: I think everybody should have only 1 vote, vote for 1 person only. In parliamentary election you dont vote for 100 people, you vote for one person to represent you.

I agree - it would also avoid having to decide who announces the controversial stewards' decisions

(Make it 'HE or SHE' in the rules though).

Okay, after i post this i'll add two new things to the voting sheet:

"President automatically head steward" and "one weighted vote per person" or "number of steward spaces votes per person" ... if that makes sense ...

I'd like to suggest 1 race with collisions / 1 race without collisions as an alternative for ppl afraid to try no collisions for a whole season

We've done it in CROGP and it got a good response. As for which race would be which I don't think it matters for the first time but the "tigher & curvier" one of the two could be no collisions.

I'd also like to suggest you chose whichever car (mclaren, ferrari) you want but teammates are paired together based on (DPI?) for more interesting constructors champ

I'd also like to suggest highest ranked driver (DPI?) takes name (e.g. Afonse = Vettel) car and role of current F1 championship and the the rest follows for the total RPG game feeling.

I'd also like to suggest you cannot freaking vote your teammates and countrymen at least (dont get me started on buddies) for functions and positions

I'd also like to suggest we add another extra term for racing... mid week perhaps?

I'd also like to suggest we do 4 or 8 short races (4 a day, 2 times a week?) with q instead of 2 long ones

I'd also like to suggest we include every single race from that track pack from a while ago into the championship

I'd also like to suggest we take away pts for rude behaviour on the forums, insulting others, bearing false witness, etc

I'd also like to suggest Afonso starts with full tank every race

I'd also like to suggest you know when you click info on quali and it shows some crazy order? is that the same for all? if so we could just agree to start quali in that order

Hah, don't be ridiculous Kos. It's not a bloody kindergarten, is it ? We are all ony humans and most importantly men so we all swear from time to time. Some more then others

I don't think it is a stupid suggestion (even though I wouldn't vote for it). Horse racing and golf both have 'handicap' systems don't they? Perhaps a handicap system would make races more interesting in NSGPOC and stop Afonso complaining that he has no credible competition

I meant before the season starts

As in you just state "I'm in and I want Lotus". The drivers that applied are then matched for the combined team DPI to be near equal and the teams are assigned accordingly (eg Afonso's desire is respected first, then whoever is 2nd in the DPI list, etc)

@we add another extra term for racing... mid week perhaps - no idea really. hard to tell without a survey of wether there is any other day and time in the week that would satisfy the majority

@we do 4 or 8 short races (4 a day, 2 times a week?) with q instead of 2 long ones - same time as usual but instead 2x cca 15 laps (whatever avg laps we get now). 4 x cca 5 laps, or similar.

@you know when you click info on quali and it shows some crazy order? is that the same for all? if so we could just agree to start quali in that order - well, every time before qualifying starts I press the info button and the drivers are "ordered" in some way... like it shows kolowski, ceraj, bubich, afonso etc... the list goes from top to bottom because it has to be sorted somehow even though we dont have times yet. if that list is the same on my screen as on the others, we could use it as a start list... like in skiing... u press info, see you're behind frost and after frost goes you go...

As i stated before, for the current race schedule i would have to quit the OC. i suggest we do first round of voting in that matter to determine how many races a week (one or two) and another question about the period pf the day you prefer the race takes place (e.g. Saturday morning, saturday evening, sunday morning, wednesday night...). As ther will be a second round of voting, after deciding which time frames are available, we vote for the hours of the race, that way i can hope i can make it at some time. Looking to the options only one suits me, but if we choose to race on weekday after 9pm uk i will be able to compete!

As for Kos suggestion on the quali grid order i think it has potential to bring some fun to the session. Another suggestion is that the president takes note of every race's fastest lap and pole position time and driver, for future reference!

Peter, i suggest: Race Control decisions can be appealed to a higher instance...maybe the president or some special commite,like The President plus the fair play award driver from previous season!

I like that idea of keeping the lap rcords! Sounds great...Kos used to make nice tables of quali times and race times but...he stopped making it cause he though no one was interested!

About Quali mode....well we can add this but...im totally against it. Takes the fun and suspense of a good quali lap away.
