Exception_access_violation

Hi guys,

I just downloaded New Star Soccer 5 and installed it. When I try and run the game, I get the following error EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.

I've downloaded and installed the game twice but I am still receiving the following error. I use a powerful laptop with Windows 7.

Hope someone can answer this for me as I would love to play tonight.

When does the error occur exactly?

Make sure you have the latest gfx drivers...

Also you can try changing C:/Program Files/New Star Soccer 5/Settings/Settings.txt opengl=0 to opengl=1.

a new user here. Don't usually fancy registering myself on several forums because I've never have to time to follow them... Found this important thread a further down the page, though.

Registered NSS 5 yesterday and came across the annoying "Exception_access_violation" error randomly. It is was solved by restarting the game and replaying the game. Now though I can't seem to get past one game in what probably is my second or third season.

I thought I would be clever by trying to SKIP the match insteading of playing it and at Full Time encountering this problem. But even skipping the match won't work now...

I can't install the very latest Nvidia drivers (yes, I tried) because the Nvidia app says that any eventual driver updates for Geforce G210m are taken care of by my notebook manufacturer. I went on the support site and downloaded the latest graphic drivers. Downloaded it, installed it, booted the computer. Still no avail. This is getting very frustrating... I'm using 64-bit Windows 7.

Oh yeah, I've also fiddled around with the settings file mentioned above. I'm running the system with an administrator account but for some reason couldn't save any changes in the setting file before copying Settings.txt to another directory, doing my modifications, saving it and copy-pasteing it back.

Opengl=0 or 1 -- doesn't seem to make any difference
Changed the save path, no help.

Same problem for me,

I'm at the 3 rd or 4th season, and i get the exception after the first match
restarted the game 3 times, and still have the same problem

Could you guys that can't get past the first game of the season send me your save files please. Documents/New Star Soccer 5/Save (just the .sav file). siread@newstargames.com

Also, if you have a save file from before the end of the previous season, that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Now this is getting really annoying...

I had to start another career because with the past one I couldn't get past the first game of season 4 (double-checked, still recurring problem). But in my newer game I'm instead stuck at the first game of season 3 now!

By a quick search it seems that this problem is far from being limited only to NSS 5?

I'm not good at coding myself but I wonder is there's some specific code in the source that would explain the occurrence of this very error?

I think I have the debugging option on but at my last look couldn't find any log file.

Yes, this will be fixed in the next update. Unfortunately you will need a save file from Year 2 or else restart a career.

Oh ok, shame... Better than nothing, I'd say, if the game actually will work then for a bit longer.

I wonder if a similar fix would help players of your other games? Remember seeing people complaining about a similar problem on other sub-forums as well (NSGP, Super Laser Racer).

No, this one was purely down to CAF fixtures being played on the last day of the year and the first day of the next year. The game didn't stop to do a season review and create the new league fixtures.

EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION is basically a standard windows message that just means, "something went wrong so I'm shutting down now".

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS!!

And Every during a MATCH..... the games goes in EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION and after press on OK i come back to DESKTOP ON XP.

After that i can re-execute and it's all ok... goes in crash after half hour of about time.........

I try to activate the OpenGL function and i can post the result tomorrow.........
