Can we still ask questions? If so, I have one. I know NSS1 was made on Visual C++, but I was wondering if the same thing could be made with Visual Basic 2010.

Something similar could be achieved with that, yes. Just need the skill.

Don't have the skill, just yet. Can't find any tutorials on google for text based games though :/

While on this topic, is C++ worth learning, or would Visual Basic be easier to use?

C++ is worth learning, because once you understand it you can learn any other language with ease. However, if you are only interested in games programming I certainly wouldn't bother with the Visual languages. You'll waste a lot of time getting to grips with the way Microsoft handle GUI objects (buttons, labels, combos etc) which will serve no real use to you in future games.

If it is only games you a interested in, check out Unity, Microsofts XNA framework and BlitzMax. They all have their pros and cons - it just depends on what you want to do and how you prefer to do it.

Hey SI saw a trailer for NSS5 on a gaming forum and was very impressed by what you v managed to create. Wouldn't be the biggest football fan in the world but i do love sports games that are done well.

Just wondering with your experience with NSS 2010 did you find it easier implementing a fully 3D engine or was it a lot easier working with 2D sprites. Obviously i know each have their own charms and faults.

As a Computer Applications student was thinking about attempting at making a basic sports game this summer while i have the time. Noticed you'v endorsed using BlitzMax as your IDE, how do you feel it copes with making a sports title?
