After being scouted playing for his local side, Baraz Airosia CF in Buenos Aires, Argentina, River Plate offered him a youth contract. After just a few months in the youth & reserve teams, Abazzi was offered the chance to play for the first team.

As soon as he did, everyone took notice.

In his first season for River Plate, Abazzi notched an impressive 14 goals in 27 appearances. Scouts all over the world were noting his name, and he appeared in various "Scout Reports" in footballing magazines all around the globe.

Abazzi started the following season with high hopes, and an even better season with 26 goals in 34 games earned Abazzi with a reputation as a potential footballing legend.

On his 18th birthday, Abazzi signed a lucrative 21,000 contract with German Bundesliga team RW Essen. Another impressive season followed, notching 29 goals in 34 games, and the next season he scored 36 in 37.

The world's largest teams were banging the German teams door down, trying to offer mad money for the player, however Abazzi himself said he wanted to stay for the next season and win the German Bundesliga with RW Essen.

And he did it, RW Essen won the league by 7 points the next season, and Abazzi signed for English Premier League Champions Manchester United for a fee of around £35M.

His first season in England was fantastic for Jorge, as he became a firm fan favourite within just several games. He finished the 07/08 season with 33 goals in 38 games. At just 21 years old, Abazzi had won everything there is to win already, and many believed he just simply could not improve as he was already too good.

They were partly right. The following season Abazzi struggled with injury, however still contributed 17 goals in 24 games.

And then the next season, Abazzi managed 23 goals in 35 games. Although most players would be happy with this tally, Jorge was not and requested a move away from Old Trafford.

Jorge signed for FC Barcelona for just under £50M in the summer of 2011.

What will his future hold at Barca, wait and see!
