Can you use a joypad for nss3? because I have a ps2 pad converter but nss3 cant seem to recognise it and I can only use the keyboard

It should recognise that there is a pad available.
Make sure you start the NSS3 action screen after plugging in your joypad.
On the kit selection screen you should be able to switch between Joypad or Keyboard.

Got it working now thanks, game is great so far btw :D
I've never heard the term "joypad" before. Are you all referring to the standard PS@ controller or something else?
And if so, which converter works best? I have been reading about problems with some converters (not playing NSS3 though) on WIN XP SP2...

Well Joypad just means a controller. This PS2 adapter should be ok on Windows XP:

I have got a Madrics Superbox 3 converter and it works very well, even with NSS3.
You can buy one for 10€ I think.
