Donnington Park

V2 Added, includes fixes to cars running wide on the racing line, path finding problems in the pit-lane entrance, rounding off of rumble-strips and a few more tweaks.

This is a track layout for the site of the 2010 British Grand Prix, Donnington Park.

Note: This layout is the CURRENT Donnington Park as featured in the BTCC championships. The redevolepment details of the F1 site are still pretty much underwraps, and it would be impossible to create an accurate layout.

However, it's still an extremely fun track and is probably my most detailed and accurate effort to date; using Google earth for the layout, environment, barriers, tyre walls, even down to the car parks.

Sure, the track layout is available, but getting something that looks like the 2010 track is impossible. Thanks for the reply anyway.

oh you mean gravel traps, trees.. the works?
is this track done in that manner? if so, kudos my friend, that's what i call attention to detail!!.

Yep :) Gravel traps, garages, run off areas, alternate pit lane entrances, tyre walls, buildings, concrete layouts, car parks, even each individual tree where it should be! :D

I used google earth to get the smallest bit of detail out of it, it's as accurate as (I think) is possible with the parts i've got to work with.

Doing the other 17? Hmmm, well i've been considering re-doing monaco to accurate specs; ie: Correct building layouts, swimming pool, no gap between barriers and track.

As for the other 16, I doubt I would have the time, but i'm sure I won't be able to resist doing a few others. :P

Of course i'd consider it, it would be great to have a go at some of those old tracks. The greatest shame in this game is that there are no gradients, imagine some of the old hillclimb tracks from the 1920's-40's, it would be incredible!

Y'know I was considering doing just that, perhaps a 1997 mod? That's probably the season I most remember from when I was younger. The cars were excelent too:

Audi A4
Renault Laguna
Volvo S40
Vauxhall Vectra
Ford Mondeo
Honda Accord
Peugeot 406
Nissan Primera

Racing round tracks like Oulton park and Thruxton I agree would be terrific!

I've done a (very quick) mock up of the 1997 Williams Renault for some idea of what these cars might look like if we gave this mod a go, use this to overwrite the unlockable "Sportscar2" and you'll get some idea as to how these cars will play in-game.

Looks good to me. Touring car mod is well worth doing. I used to play the original codemasters TOCA to death, look forward to the mod.
