Portuguese Translation WIP

Well I've decided to try my hand at translating NSS4 to Portuguese
Anyways here's the csv attached.

I'd like the opinion of other portuguese players as to the abbreviations used to define the attributes of the player like (Tck and Sht in the english version). Hope we can reach a consensus in that area

I've almost done on the help files...and I've translated the achievements.ini aswell

PS: How do I implement the translation in-game? :wall:

PS2: I kind of "saved as" a csv from an original xls so maybe a few things when haywire,let me know if there are problems

Hello Evolution,
I'm doing the brazilian portuguese translation (and hope will finish soon) and want to share/ask something.

When I was about to translate GK/D/M/A/S, or SH/PC/ etc etc... I thought: "probably the people who usually plays football games are more used to the english abbreviations than if I translate them."

Imagine, the GK becomes GO, or GL... kinda strange... =P

I also feel that way but upon checking other languages for the gist of what to translate I saw that they have their own translations for the attributes and positions...personally portuguese has words for the abilities that are hard to abbreviate to 3 letters :P

Everything seems to be in order. If you put this blf file into: c:/Program Files/New Star Soccer 4/Languages/

Then make a copy of the en folder and rename it pt you should be able to test your language. Obviously the Incidents, Newspaper etc will be in English still. :)

Cool ill look into it...after i'm done translating the rest and updating a few minor errors in the csv ill put a rar here for you to implement everything in the coming update.

Edit: There is a To Sort folder in the en language folder...do I translate those aswell?

PM Sent...Hopefully I'll have this done by tomorrow as i've finally translated the news papers and help files that kind of took a while because the game didn't accept certain caracters like ~ and accents ( `and ´ ) and it broke the text halfway so I had to substitute them in each file :wall:

Now only the incidents remain :)

Hey Evolution, what you did with the help files? I'm having the same trouble with accents, and I really don't want to take them off =(
I just downloaded the 4.05 version and the help files are all messy :(

well i did remove them (using the substitute function of the Notepad editor)
also had to replace the ç with c...it kind of messes things up but it's still understandable to a certain degree....also the newspaper reports can't have accents and stuff, not sure about the incidents though :(

You can try saving the files as UTF-8.

Great!... I hate starting all full of power in one activity only to let down the people who entrusted it to me

Sadly, my updated csv (key differences from the first one) aswell as the newspapers and most of the incidents went to oblivion as my brother formated the pc without even consulting what i needed...so i kinda lost the fuel to translate it

That and also i had exams and stuff, and i have just settled into med school in continental portugal...so i will not have the time to do the translation all over again.

To anyone who might be interested , please by all means use my prototype csv, some things need to be changes because of context in the game...and my hat's off to whoever has the patience to do that and redeem my good name with the game creator :wall:

Erm, I'm sure Lucas did not mean to say that, I know him personally and he's not exactly well... good with English. I think he was complimenting you for your work so far (well that's what he says in the end lol)

Hope some nice soul finds time to finish that...im utterly devastated because the new csv was so much improved, and incidents took forever to translate
