NSGP shuts down networking?

It appears that after playing NSGP for more than a few minutes, it completely shuts down networking on my laptop. Wireless can't find any networks, even though I know there are some including the one I was connected to before starting the game, wired can't connect. It also appears that when this happens, something in explorer (not IE) is locked up, as I can't shut down normally and have to force a shutdown.

Anyone else seen something like this?

I have a Dell Latitude D630 running XP.

I realize it doesn't help for me to say "no", but I was playing not long ago and received a new mail notification, not to mention when I minimized the game I was able to look on this very forum for something.

Just another data point to add for my problem. If I disable my wireless before starting the game, I can rejoin the network just fine by reenabling it after I quit. Something is locking the connection during game play.
