Hi there,

I placed an order last night for NSGP. It's great fun so I'm happy to pay the reasonable price, also because I think it has great potential for more features in the future.

Response was quick, however, my order was held as whoever it is that I sent my payment details to could not accept my credit card as I did not input a phone number, and that they wish to phone me in order to validate my identity. I don't believe this to be true, as credit card companies do not require this information for validation anywhere else.

I replied that I do not wish to give them my phone number and they may contact me via email for any problems, but did not hear back from them. Not only do I not wish to provide unnecessary information to them, but I also live in Hong Kong, where we pay for incoming international calls! :wall:

Not only do I want to support development of NSGP... I really want a spin on Monaco! (I'm terrible with damage I'm always smoking by the time I pit).

If you could help out in any way that would be great...

Anyway, great game!

I'm afraid you'll have to take this up with Plimus, it's not under the control of New Star Games at all. I'd recommend using a PayPal account to avoid this, but it is common practice as far as I am aware to validate using phone numbers and addresses if necessary.

Thanks for the reply, you're much more helpful than they have been! They haven't replied to any of my messages so I just assume I will have to wait and see if they have charged me. I never have to supply the phone number in HK and UK... oh well!

It's a real shame, I guess I will muddle along with 3 tracks for now, but if I try and buy it again in the future can I still use the same driver name now that I already ordered once with it?

Thanks,

Peter

I think if you put in a phone number they don't actually ring it unless they are suspicious of something. Ironically if you leave the phone number out or put something like 1234567890 then they get suspicious!

If you want to order again we can refund a duplicate order if it comes through twice.

And don't worry about the driver name, that will be fine. :)

Sorry about the fact the last two posts spent over a week in the moderation queue
