NOTE!
The database included in the zip does not have KERS data - it is intended for version 1.0.4. Trying to use it in 1.0.5, 1.0.6 or later version may (and usually does) crash the game.

A database with KERS to use with this mod in v1.0.5 and later is availabe here :

Mega have the most annoying captcha I've ever seen too - if you get one you can't read, hit F5 and it'll give you another code.

Ah, you're cars are great too! ;)

But by the way, was it your intention that some teams have the same helmets for both drivers? Sometimes it's quite hard to distinguish driver 1 from driver 2.

I've tried to mimic the driver's actual helmets (as much as that's possible with only 6-8 pixels to work with) - at McLaren and Ferrari this makes for easily distinguishable drivers, as Felipe and Louis have yellow hats and the Finns are blue.

But over at Red Bull, both Webber and Vettel have blue, Red Bull-themed hats and although Fernando and Nelsinho have quite different helmet designs, the tops, which is the bit we see in race, are both blue.

I guess I could go to the old 1990s solution and put a different colour strip on the nose of each car within a team, but I sort of like the mystery - it's a thrill when I see a Renault closing me down because until it catches me I can't tell if it's Fernando (quickly overtakes me) or Nelsinho (crashes into a wall).

Hey all. Forgive my stupidity, but for some reason I can't get this to work! I have overwritten all the files specified in the readme, and also tried deleting the original files before copying them from the download. But whenever I start a new game I still get the option of taking over Lewis Himmelton!!

I've probably missed something very basic, but if someone could point it out to me I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I think you have to delete or move the New Star Grand Prix folder in My Documents. Although be careful, if you delete it, you lose your save games.

I've just tried that and it still hasn't worked. But thanks. It's very strange because i've opened the database and the names are correct in the file, but the game is reverting to the old DB somehow...

That's just peculiar barsiem. I haven't tried it on Vista, because I'm using XP so maybe a Vista user running one of the Mods can confirm what's up?

All it takes on XP is replacing the db in the install file for career games and deleting or renaming the QuickRace db in your My Documents folder to get the name change in the quick race.

I hope someone can help you sort this out.

Edit: Worked straight forward, didn't have to delete nothing. Make sure the files are in the correct folders :)

Thanks a lot for you help guys. I still couldn't get the name changes sorted but I've been able to update the badges and cars so that's something. I just changed the names manually so I'm good to go!

The original version of the database was for version 1.0.4 which did not have KERS, which means that that database does not work with version 1.0.5 and on.

I've uploaded a new db with the KERS information :

All of the other files in the original zip linked in the first post should still work with recent versions, but you'll need to use this database.

In version 1.0.6 the database doesn't go in the install directory any more, it goes in the folder listed below by Dinosamp. (Thanks Dinosamp!)

I'm trying to use this mod with the 1.08 and i start a career but when i try to go to practice, it crashes to the desktop, and yes i'm using the 1.05 db on the 1st post.

it works in 1.08, and its my personal opinion that the cars look more like the real ones :)
