Editing Car Liveries

I have recently bought NSGP for my intel mac and absolutely loved the game! However I am beginning to think about modding it. I have managed to download a mac version of sqlite browser to edit the database with but can't seem to find any information on how to edit the car liveries and designs.

Any help would be muchly appreciated. Sorry if there is a thread on this somewhere I have had a good look.

The car liveries are in the media/cars folder in .png format (in the pc version at least).

Be aware that if you make edits, you'll probably have to reset the palette transparency.

I have no idea of your comfort level with graphic editing, but I like quick and dirty solutions, so when I start to edit a car I throw a new layer beneath the car layer and fill it with shocking pink, which will eventually be the palette transparency colour.

When I'm done, I merge the layers down to make a single layer, set the transparency and then save the car under a test name. Then I check in the /cars folder to make sure that it looks like a car on a white background. If it's surrounded with a pink box, the transparency didn't set correctly.

I'm just at the car spec editing stage to sort out the handling/acceleration/speed stats for each team and then I'll release a car set + db for the 2009 season, with the snow-plow front wings, dinner-tray rear wings, etc.

I dont seem to have the 'media' folder in the mac version, perhaps its laid out differently. I dont spose they could be hidden anywhere else?

On the mac you need to view the contents of the NSGP app. (Control + click I think.)

Yep worked like a dream, thanks si really love this game. Can have some fun putting some fantasy teams in now.:lol:
