Just a little(ish) thing that bugs me about NSS4
I play as a striker and started playing for Burnley in the Championship. I started every game and was setting up and scoring goals. Then I was dropped as soon as I sighned a contract and we went from 5th to 12th with me only coming on as a subsitute in positions like right mid and center back in the 75th min with no time to even get a touch sometimes. I then got a loan move to the Conference and thought id be able to shine a bit more but 6 matches in I have 1 goal and just cant score. So this is my point, in NSS3 it was such a fun and addictive game because their was the option (easy) where you could set your league on fire, carry your team and score consistently in you first season and I dont think this is the case on NSS4. The team relies on your performance, and if YOU dont score, you more often the not lose. I think that what NSS4 gains in realisticness it has lost in the pick up and play area. I have never been one of the people who makes it into their 5th or more seasons so would just possibly like an option to make it the first seasons a bit more fun. Its got to the point that when I am selected i have to take the ball into my half and just pass so I get a higher rating and can play the next game.
Sorry to rant, and sorry if i'm the only person that thinks this. Apart from that the games great

hi doug :) I'll leave it to Si to address your 'out of position' points but some feedback from me is..

a) Post in the right forum and make your title more useful? a post entitled 'NSS4' in the Training Ground is less likely to get noticed by anyone who can do anything about the problems in the post than "out of position after signing contract?" in the Duguout ;)

b) I think any gains in realism meant the game HAD to lose some of it's 'pick up and play' factor. I think easy in NSS3 was ridiculously easy once you'd played a few seasons and NSS4 actual forces you to suffer a bit more, which is of course much more realistic imho. But for me at least, that makes it all the more satisfying when you do start to score/assist/become a first team player/get your first cap/get your dream transfer :)

Cheers,
I only noticed the other bit of the forum to post after I had posted and didnt want to re post :)
but thanks, I was just speaking from the perspective of someone who may only play 1-3 seasons may not give them the same positive experiance as other single player games
Dont want the game to not get the reconistion it deserves :P

It's a good point statt. I'll be thinking about it...
