No one to pass the ball to

I came into the match as a substitute. My team had 10 players after someone was sent off. The rival team scored, and when my team had to restart the game, my player was standing alone in the circle in the middle of the pitch, with no one to pass the ball to so I could not restart the match. I had to skip the rest of the "action" so I could finish the match.
