NSS4 doesn't check the internet when you load a saved game - it only needs to check the internet when you put in your license key.

Please make sure you have installed version 4.0 not the earlier demo.

I have the version 4.0, infact when i tried to update the software appears the message "Your version of NSS4 is up to date"

I have the same problem. I have the most up to date version and have registered. I tried it just now and it is very clear that when I turn of my internet (wireless if that makes any difference) the game crashes when I try to load a save game. I turned of my firewall (zonealarm) but it didn't make any difference. After activating the connection again the game loads as normal.

There isn't any message. Only the game crashes and closes. You must click again on the icon if you want to start the game again
