I would say the best stars at Sheffield Wednesday are Glenn Whelan, who plays in the middle of the park for us, and is a regular captain of the Republic of Ireland under 21 team, and Chris Brunt, a talented left winger, who has some full caps for Northern Ireland already at the age of 21.

Do you know Tevez? Mascherano? Anderson (both the attacker and the defender)? Dinélson? Rosinei? Nilmar? Fred? Cicinho?

Tevez is a quality player, I hope he comes to Europe one day. I'm quite excited by the likes of Quincy, but am equally gutted we lost out on 16 year old defender Jack Hobbs, who opted to choose Liverpool...

oh, and Arturo Lupoli looks useful. Only 18, he scored 27 goals in 35 reserve games last season.

We had quite a few talented youngsters at Chester last season, most notibly was Robbie Booth who looked very promising and scored in one of the games he played. Unfortunatly though come the end of the season and a new manager, him and all the other youngsters (+ all but nine of the squad) were released. Robbie's now at southport, and unfortunatly it looks like he wont make it big after being released :(

Also last season we sold Danny Collins to sunderland (though he's in his 20's now, we've had him for several seasons since signing him from buckley town) who was a poor-striker converted into a great defender, who also has a couple of wales caps since his move, and when he comes back from injury, i do hope he can make his mark on the premiership. :D

Tevez is surely one of the best young players nowadays 8) , I hope he'll become a world-class (although I think he's already a world-class, just need to go to Europe to get his name everywhere).

Championship Manager is the bible for all rising stars. All us players of Champ knew Saviola was going to be an awsome players right from the first release he was included in. I'd love to say Rooney was the same, but in the first champ he was a left winger, and rubbish :D

So yes, Teves, he will be trully great, as he is a legend on champ. Cisse and Defoe were brilliant champ youngsters in like the 00/01 game, and now 5 years later they are indeed great strikers. Another player from that champ was John Terry, who was always going to be special, and when Freddy Adu turned up on champ in 01/02 aged 14, he was awsome for a 14 year old, and now at 17 the media are catching up to him.

If this theory is correct, then England Under 21 striker Cherno Samba should be the new star of world football in the future, because he rocks my socks off on every champ since 01/02 :D Anyone know where he is playing these days? He was at Millwall, and now I think he is at West Ham, possibly. And if anyone is looking, check for Moses Ashikodi, as he is also very good in the last few champ releases.

I never realised he went to Cadiz though! Looks like he hasn't played much but he's only 20, so fingers crossed...

Just remembered of Rafinha (ex-Coritiba, going to Schalk04, I think), a quality wing.

I think left-winger Steven Robb of Dundee is a quality player and will probably end up going to one of the old firm in one or two seasons time.

Dundee's left back 17 year old Paul Dixon seems like a great player for the future. At the moment, he is pretty good. He needs a couple of years to mature though.

Right back Mark Wilson of DUndee United is also a pretty good player and is probably also destinated for the old firm.

St.Mirren's Kirk Broadfoot is a solid central defender not as solid as Lee Wilkie but the boy is still young and he will no doubt get better if he manages to get a get a move to an spl team because we all know St.Mirren are going nowhere.

What about Lee Wallace? He seems to have had some good reviews, and at only 18 looks like one for the future.

Plays for Hearts? I have never seen him play I don't think and he probably won't get much of a game with all these foreigners coming into Hearts.

Both exceptionally good on the new Champ, and Borre was another who shone when he was on champ 01/02 :) As was Phillipe Mexes, then at Auxerre, now at Roma. Mind, they got a big slap on the wrist for signing him, but the point still remains, Champ is always right 8)

Dont slightly off topic to cricket, I was reading about the youngest ever player to be given a cricket Scholarship by Yorkshire yesterday, he is 13. He bats, and plays for the Colligate under 17's, which is a very high standard. He has a season batting average of 71.5 against kids more than 4 or 5 years older than him.

Now thats a young star :) He would smack my bowling around anyway, and he is 7 years younger than me #-o

here in Colombia we don't have 'a lot', but here I point some examples:
- Hugo Rodallega: The past southamerican under-20 top-scorer, in the U20 world cup we fall only against Argentina :( the champion.
- Wason Renteria: Another future star, he would be bought by Corinthians.
- Abel Aguilar: U20 Midfielder he has already played in the senior national team, and he scored. he's now in the Udinese.
- Edixon Perea: He isn't as young as the other three (21 years), but he has a great talent (now in Bordeaux).

Aand in the world I've seen other two very talented player, Lionel Messi form Argentina (FC Barcelona) and Ryan Babel (FC Ayax).

Sheffield Wednesday dropped one with a bloke called Eric Cantona before he went to Leeds. But at the time he was trialing with us we couldnt see him playing on grass, he was only in a training hall for some reason, and we wouldn't sign him til we saw him outdoors #-o

But not wanting to be out shone, Sheffield United took a young Argentinian attacker on trial some years ago before deciding he would never be good enough for them and sent him packing back home. His name was Diego Maradona  :D :D :D :D

sorry always had bad language people in leicester dont seem to mind it

most peeps in leicester speak slang and swear quite a bit

when i come to think of it so do alot of people in sheffield

Wednesdaylad43

We certainly do, but not in forums where such language has been deemed inappropriate :)

Cantona was definantely a mistake in hindsight, but Uniteds was a better one. They decided instead of signing Maradona, they would sign another bloke called Alex Sabella I believe his name was, who wasn't bad.

Sabella brings me to the boxing day masacre game, and everything that happened on that wonderful day, but I wont go on about it, surfice to say United dropped a bigger clanger than we did in the transfer market.

Wednesdays problem is we buy players then sell them just before they get good, theres more than a few cases of it
