Queensland Roar??
Melbourne Victory??
What are they playing, American football?? Do they have cheerleaders at the side of the pitch, and score by getting the ball into the netted endzone?

It's a new franchise, so it looks like they are going the same way... bit camp really if you ask me!

The teams are:
Adelaide United FC - I can cope with that, its relatively normal
Central Coast Mariners FC - This is stupid. Surely you cannot have a central coast. Your coasts are either North, South, East or West, or any combination of the afore mentioned. To have a central coast, your country needs to look like a Doughnut.
Melbourne Victory FC - Sounds like an under 14 girls hockey team name.
New Zealand Knights FC - Cant they be New Zealand Rovers?
Newcastle Jets FC - Ditto to the above, Jets isnt a legitimate footballing team name, we are not playing Basketball.
Perth Glory FC - Reminds me of morning glory, and really, Glory isnt the name for your club that is going to inspire players to victory is it? They should be called the Perth Were Gonna Kick Your Teeth In FC.
Queensland Roar FC - #-o
Still, Im sure the team with the most stupid name will win the A-league, so perhaps Adelaide will be bottom, and the rest will be tied first. Maybe Central Coast Mariners will sneak it on goal difference, i wouldnt like to say

I admit some of the names are stupid but what about Sheffield Wednesday? Why Wednesday wny not Monday or Tuesday or even Saturday? What kind of a name is Sheffield Wednesday?
As for Central Coast they mean the central coast of NSW. I never liked the name neither

I wil admit that its one of the more diverse team names, but its because traditionally we started playing all our games on a wednesday, but we dont sound like an American football team
And I still like the idea of australia being shaped like a doughnut

But why choose the wednsday out of the date. If it was called Sheffield 1867 it would be better, and anyway i dont see a manchester monday or a liverpool friday.
You asked, they explained, now back on topic please.
