Hard to say not having seen Bresciano in action, but it looks like he's got a pretty good record during his time in Italy.

I'd probably say Cahill is the best performing at present, but Kewell has (had?) the potential to be a world class player.

Australia has good players?

Runs and hides....

No I kid... i remember seeing some of those old Oceania world cup preliminaries when Asutralia was beating folks 31-0 or 26-0. Scary.

But then when you are playing against some tiny island that barely have enough people to fill a team...... :)

Yeah Archie Tompson holds the record for most goals in a game. He scored 13 or 16 or somthing like that in a huge win against Samoa.

Samoa are much improved now last time australia played them it was 6 - 0 for australia. Since australia beet england 3 -1 the result between england and samoa would be 2-0 or 3-0.

you think that what you have write about england and samoa can be in real world?? i don't think so.
if australia is as good as you write why they don't play in world cup in last years??

Soha is right, the proof is in the pudding, and you have missed out on the world cup pudding for a number of years. Its not like Australia have the toughest ever qualifying group, and you always seem to end up playing Saudi Arabia or Kuwait in a play off to get near to the world cup.

And you dont follow the cricket by any chance do you mate?

I think that is a terrible comparision. And yes, Somoa have improved. Weren't those 26-0 losses a result against Australia there first year in the world cup? No wonder Australia spanked them so much. Any team would have. You also notice that in the same breath New Zealand was killing them that year as well. Maybe not as much as Australia but they were still killing them.

Or rugby?

No, were crap at rugby. I do like cricket thats all, always good to talk to someone if they are informed about the game, and if they have a different perspective on it to me due to living on the other side of the world is an added bonus.

But shhh bout the rugger yeah?? :o

Ive read several sources saying that when they saw Bosnich in his late teens and early 20's, before he went to villa, he was one of the best young keepers they had ever seen. Ron Atkinson described his as the best keeper he had ever seen for a player of his age when he brought him to Villa.

I wont listen to anyone saying he is a poor keeper, he did indeed, just lose his way

Because FIFA never give them a chance. 1994 they had to play Argentina. 1996 they played Iran, a winnable game, in the second leg australia was thrashing them but a pitch invader stopped the game for 15 minutes and after that australia conceeded 2 goals to lose by the away goals rule. 2002 they played Uruguay, they were better then they are now, and they losed because in Uruguay they were spit on and harased because they won the first leg.

Australia have not played those 2. Now Australia are in AFC they will qualify for world cups. 2006 world cup they will play a South American team again for the chance to qualify, most likely Columbia.

but uruguay was better and they have played in world cup ( i think that australia were that time team on uruguay level).
now they can play in world cup because they will play in asian qualifications. but remember that one of the best teams in asia have lose with germany 0:8 on world cup. so think about asian football level.
in real they have only one AVERAGE team- japan.

they have a very good team!!! If you knew about world soccer you would know this.

Look, the point is that if Australiea had a half-way decent team then they would have been in Japan/South Korea.

they did have a halfway decent team. If you got spit on and you recieved death threats i would like to see how well you play. Australia proved they could beat them by winning the first leg but then they were harased and they recieved death threats when they went to Uruguay.

A good player should be able to play in troubled conditions and simply put it down to small-mindedness.

DS

Well if you recieved death threats you wouldnt play well would you? You would not play at all probably. FIFA should have had the second leg played at a neutrale venue.
