View Full Version : Your Summer 2005 Transfer Predictions
So who's going where? Is your local team's whizz-kid being courted by a big gun, or is your aging midfield maestro taking a step down the league ladder?
My predictions for summer transfers...
Shaun Wright-Phillips to join Arsenal, spelling the end of Robert Pires, who will in turn be used as a makeweight in deals involving either Michael Essien or goalie Ricardo (not the Man U one who has just been released).
Shefki Kuqi to join Blackburn and give EPL defenders a bruising next year.
Shay Given to leave Newcastle and join either Man Utd or Arsenal.
Reading's Steven Sidwell to join a Premiership team.
Some Benfica players are wanted by big clubs like juventus chelsea and internazionale.
Luisão-Brazilian defender
Miguel-Portuguese fullback
Petit-Great defensive midfielder-wanted by some spanish clubs like sevilla
Manuel Fernandes-One of the most promising Portuguese player-in 1 year passed from Benfica B team to Portuguese main squad-19 years old-center midfielder
I hope none of these go out because they are some of Portugese league best players

I think Pablo Aimar will make his way to Anfield, and possibly Harry Kewell could side step the other way to pay for it. Rafa has hinted several times he would like Aimar, and I dont blame him really
As for wednesday, I guess who Paul Sturrock brings in will depend on how we fair in todays game
UP THE OWLS!

Chester City to attempt to sign the entire Mansfield town squad. (As our manager used to manage them, and then got rid of 20 of our players when he arrived)

i doubt man u will sign buffon as the only 'keeper in the world that can save man u from certain mediocrity is Petr Cech, and Chel$ki aren't exactly gonna need the $, are they???[/u]

Buffon vs. Cech? But u still gotta admit Buffon's goalie skills are not inferior to Cech in my opinion. Buffon is still the world's top goalie, Cech is catching up.
I seriously doubt Chelsea would let him go over to thier biggest, (or 2nd biggest) rivals to the PREMIERSHIP TITLE.
My guess:- Buffon to Man Utd

There's no way Eto'o can come to Trafford right now, and I think it's pretty hard to Owen come too (tough it would be cool  )...

Well, I'm not sure, but i've heard he's quite a talented player. Great feet, nice controls.
So, i'd this idea, i went over to my FM2005 game and seach for him. Voila! His stats are quite high on the offensive end, i guess until the Gunners announces him den we can catch a glimpse of his wonderness...

macnamara = wolves. Why?
Why not? He's a good player and no offence to Celtic, but I think it'd do him good to spend the end of his career in England. I wanted Arsenal to sign him as a replacement for Lee Dixon!
And Stuttgart will be making an announcement tomorrow with regards to Hleb... I think he's a Gooner...
