Technical Question - Uniforms

In NSS4, will it be possible to do more with the uniforms? ie change the templates, the color palette, socks/shorts details, etc. As a side note, if someone could point out how to tinker with them in NSS3, that would be great.

Also, I had a question regarding how uniforms are read from the game. Why are they seemingly tied to the savegame? We all know kits change from year to year, why can't we change them when they would normally? I would think the kits remained separate from the save, so that it just read what they were from the data files instead of from the save game. Is there any way mid-save uni editing would be possible, in NSS3 or 4?

Yes, you can update them as and when you like.

Take a look in the New Star Soccer 4/Media/Player/ folder to see the basic kit templates, and check out this image to see how they are composed...

I'm afraid there won't be any kits included with the game, they will be generated automatically to keep the file size down.

Also, patch kits can look realistic (like the kit patches for FIFA/PES) so there isn't much point in patching with simplistic kits, i'm afraid.

yep, and the updated skin template is in the same directory as the old ones in the nss4 game directory so not too hard to find :)

here's the layered template it's done in photoshop but should also work in gimp.

EDIT: NEW UPDATED FILE FURTHER DOWN

it's pretty selfexplanatory just pick the features you want then use "hue/saturation" (i think it is in english) CTRL+U, check both boxes (like in the jpg i included in the rar) and then either load one of the colors i included or fiddle with the slidebars until you get what color you want.

this should help you do alot of kits pretty fast and the more of a base of your own details and logos you build up the faster it is!

the kits are not exact replikas but they are alot better than the original nss4 kits and they are easy to use.

i'd like some mention in the packs if you use it.

also the shading template i used as a base is something i found for pes3 and i've had it for ages and dont know where it came from. I reworked it for nss4 tho and did all the detail layers!

The kits have more sponsors on them in reality but with the small size it just looks jumbled up and most of the smaller ones cant be made out anyways so i opted for kits with just 1 main sponsor even if it isnt 100% true to life.

I did them all with my template in a few hours...

The files need to be named: KitID_0.png, KitID_1.png, KitID_2.png,

ID must be replaced by the club id number which can be found by opening the
database file with the program SQLite Database Browser which you should be
able to find with google.
The numbers 0,1,2,3 relate to the Home kit, Away kit, Third kit, Keeper kit.

Tried out a new way pf carrying the baby today (ina sort of a pouch on my belly) and suddenly had my hands free to do some stuff... came up with these!

Possibly, but I'm not familiar with Rhino. If the model can be converted to .b3d then it should be possible to create stadiums. I will explain the details about making stadiums sometime after release.
