what do u think is the best league in the world

i personally think that its the premiership
trying not to be biased but the italian and spainish leagues are all fouling and free kicks :x
and you can allways tell who is gunna win
the team with the most possesion
were as in the premiership its a lot more about taking your chances

im srry to all the other leagues but they dont have the names and the quality of the three ive mentioned. even though a lot of other leagues can be good to watch. =D>

I voted to Itally.
You know, Spanish is a little strange, I mean, there are Numancia, Albacete, Osasuņa (sorry if there's any fan of these teams, but it's strange), etc. playing against some few teams of world class (and they usually play equal to equal against them :x ).
Premiership is better, but now is a little centralized (OK, maybe I was too much time at the sun), i mean, some years before Manchester United winned everything, then Arsenal made the same last year, then had a match between United and Arsenal, witch United won (great match of Rooney) and Arsenal began to lose a lot of macthes, and Chelsea took it's place (this is an overall view of it from the other side of the world, so it may be very different to the ones who are living it).
So my vote is to Itally.

Well, perhaps you need to look at who is left in the champs league. It changes season to season, but the records over the years will show you who has the strongest league

Mad2Ad

no i dont think that the champs league represents the best league to be honest.

playing in a tournament is totaly different to playing in a league

But you have to be the best in your country to qualify, giving the best outside representation of how clubs from different leagues directly match up against each other. If all four of the semi finalists of the champions league were english, would it not be safe to assume England had the strongest, or best, league?

Mad2Ad
04-18-2005, 04:27 PM
yeah but teams dont all ways play there best stlye or even there best players

Wednesdaylad43

Thats true, but you wouldnt find two top teams playing reserves unless they had already qualified, that is why its good the Champions League has removed the second group stage and introduced instant 2 leg knockouts, that way Games carry more importance from early on in the tournament and pointless games against minnows are reduced.

Mad2Ad

which also makes it less like the leagues so you cant compare the teams league which they are in

Wednesdaylad43

But your centreing your argument on the fact one league is better than another because of the standard of the best teams in that league

Barca, Madrid

Chelsea, Arsenal

Milan, Inter, Juve

And that would mean the champs league does offer the best comparison. If you were talking the full line up of the leagues, such as all teams from all leagues, who has the best overall league, thats hard to do and is simply opinion based

I honestly believe that the Premiership is the strongest league in Europe. Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelski, Liverpool, all teams that got to the latter stages of the Champions League.

Add teams like Newcastle and Boro who done relatively well in the UEFA cup. Then look at the teams lower down... your Spurs, Charltons and Villas would do well against their Spanish or Italian equivalents I think.

not sure that arsenal, chelsea, man u
are better then real, barca, juve, ac milan but i do belive that bolton and those kind of teams are better then the equilvilent in the other leagues

yeh - the mediocre teams are much better, par example, Everton were realy good last year but this year they are about to get a champs league place - and thats from selling a good player!!!!!!!!!

but we have much better teams in the mid-table zone such as bolton, villa, tottenham etc

yeah considering that newcastle got to the quarters (i think0 of the uefa and the semis of the fa cup,(best domestic cup in the world no doubt about it) there about 14 in the league which wouldn't happen in many other leagues

You dont know they are better though, you are just saying they are. Unless all teams from every league played it each other, then it is still a matter of opinion, is my point.

for gods sake i know im only saying thats the hole point of forums to have your say its all about opinions

The only other thing i will say on the matter is the fact that European success is often guaged on the competition a team faces week in week out in their own respective league. It is very true that Scottish teams often fail in Europe as they are not being really pushed when playing in the league. I suppose this is another reason why the champions league is the best benchmark for this sort of argument. Teams doing well in the champions league are used to tough games week in week out, so i guess half the teams left in the champs league are English, good thing :P

gotta be the la liga cos you always got random teams that are catching the league title and gaining high places like mallorca, villareal, real betis and valencia (deportivo)....i cud go on.....unlike the premiership where theres only Man U, Chelsea and arsenal rocking the top 3..

hmm... maybe Spain has only two consistently great teams and England has three?? You could say that there are random teams gaining high postions outside the top 3, like Everton, Bolton, Middlesbrough etc...

Well
im portuguese and i really think the Portuguese league is being the most competitive this year
the top 4 are separated by 4 points
of course Benfica(my team)is leading but all of those teams will probably have a chance until the last game!
