Hi mate, hows it going there in Coimbra? The Universaty good? I haven't been there in ages.
Sorry for the slow response as I didn't have internet installed in the club rented apartment in Portimão. Cheap management. xD
Yea, I know, the past six months I could have tried to call or somethin' but I left my cellphone back at home in Porto, and I don't want to pay a quarter to make a call from a phonebook.
Well, now, since you asked to always be kept on what I am doing in my soccer career, well, here goes (but be prepared for a long reading):
Well, when I went to take a trial for Portimonense, they asked me if I could come a second time, when I did, they gave me a contract, so this means that I did do something good.
In my first game I started in the bench and when I got in, I thought of playing a good game to show my manager he could count on me to play in the first team, but that didn't happen, in fact, if I had any "name" I would have trashed it that night. (I am not going to tell you how we were doing in the league because I am sure you were following me all this time).
As I kept on losing, I gained something, but something bad, AN ADDICTION! I became addictive to drinking but ust one each night (which is a lot for someone who never drunk).
Then, the first time I got the pay check from the club, I went to do something that most people would later judge me (and maybe you), I gambled all of my money, but I di get something back in Blackjack, but only to lose in the roulette tables. Lost 2000 in just 30 minutes and later on, when they posted a picture of me playing blackjack on the news and my mom hear about it, I was nagged for about an hour on the phone.
My addictions got even worst (except gambling, getting nagged for an hour really kills an addiction ) when I got a groin injury (yes, it hurts more than it sounds) and got to drinking two Imperiais (beer) instead of 1).
But they say "God never closes a door, without opening a window" and I noticed that (I just wanted him to choose a better injury spot) and I got called to discuss Portuguese football in a small local radio for the three weeks that I was injured.
Then when I came back to the bench (I kept the bench warm a lot), I didn't play the first game I came and we lost 3-0 (coincidence, hell yes!).
It seems my bones are made out of butter, during practice I got attacked in the legs by (not saying names) "Mr.X" and now I got 2 more weeks of seeing the game at home.
And since I couldn't play, I went to the pub and... you know the rest...
Shhh! the next thing I am going to say is to be kept a complete secret, I took steroids that a "Mr.Y" got for me, felt real good...
When I came back I did a lot of Cardio training and others to prevent me from getting tied and become a target for a possible injury and at the same time, got praised by my boss because I lasted the most in the endurance race he organized. Maxed out Stamina
Then, exactly three months after my first match, I start as a sub (you must have read about this) and made my first goal! A stunner really! Got my team the draw and was called a hero by them all night! We went partying to the local club but I didn't touch any alcohol, too busy celebrating my first goal to do that! I added ma video of the goal for you to see.
The next game, a dream came true (a lousy one but... meh:lol:), I began the game in the starting eleven and was vital to the game. I made an assist and when I did that, I also got my team the win (the shooter had its credits but... I'm talking about me, not him).
The cup match was exiting, but sad. We started the game okay but then they penetrated our defence and made a goal. Not little after that I got subbed (it wasn't my fault coach, honest!), my team mates ended up drawing and then lost in the penalties 2-3. It was a sad day.
A frew days later I was talking to some team mates and the janitor (nice fellah) and I, joking, said that I would be better of playing in England, well, the chairman overheard me and I called me to his office. He told me that if I decided to leave, Portimonense would lose a future star and added that, on the other hand, they would gain a quarter million. Got me wondering if I should leave or not.
The next few games there was ups and downs (more downs than ups) and I got back to my old partners, beer! Got back to drinking one every night, and, one day, I am not sure 'cause I must have been drunk, I ended up taking performance enhancing drugs.
After a lot of trouble with my team I go to the transfer market.
And lost of propositions come and I choose (you may not have heard of them, neither did I!), Den Bosch, who are in first place of the Jupiter League. They bought me for 775.000 and I made a nice income. They also pay over 35 times what Portimonense did. So you can expect that BMW that I promised you last year, first thing Monday morning. After all I did say that I if I reached the top (it is not the top yet but...) I would give you a BMW, you just have to follow up on your end of the deal and finish your five years course and become a successful manager. I hope you get to TRY coaching me.
By the way, how are you doing? I left my number inside the car, so give me a call or text me some day.
Nando.
