NSS4 Alpha E

Hello everyone. As it's Friday I thought I'd spread the feel-good vibes and let you have a peek at the current alpha version of NSS4. It's still at alpha stage and will remain so until all of the main game elements are in there. So download, try it out and let me know what you think. I suggest you choose to be a Player Manager so you can make sure you are in the team. :)

The match engine is still in the early stages but you can see what we have so far by choosing 'Play Matches' in the options.

Known Issues
- If you are unable to run the game then try turning off the 3D option.
- Please ignore issues with the News items (can't read, irrelevant news etc).
- Player Eyes. Yes, I know he looks like one of Satan's minions, but it's just temporary. :)
- Kits are very basic. That will change.
- Match freezes at kick off. (Just press Space to reset positions and wait for kickoff. Try to make sure your player is in the right position.)
- Cannot change joypad/key controls.

Match Controls
F1/F2/F3 change camera view (ignore the others, they are experimental).
Q/A Camera Height
W/S Camera Angle
E/D Zoom (R to reset zoom)
Press F11 to switch between keyboard and joypad. (Keyboard controls are the same as NSS3, plus Shift for sprint.)

Engine.ini
You will notice a file called Engine.ini. Open it up in NotePad and take a look. With this you can edit all the physics of the match engine. It's quite possible to ruin the match engine by messing with this, but you can always start over by extracting it from the the zip again.

After I changed a few things, it doesn't have the best settings right now so if you come up with some good settings let us all know. :D

Translators
With this version we will be able to test the translated files. There are only 3 languages in at the moment (English, Spanish, Dutch) but it's just a case of updating the language file. (Fab, I'll teach you how to do that soon. ;))

Your translations are going to be a reality very soon, I've got your files, just need to update the language file in game :)

Hi,

I don¨t know if i am too bad with computers:) but I can't open neither NSS4 application nor settings one.:( It only apperas new black window and immedieatly disappears again.nothing more

One notice-when I open NSS4 application-the new window is called NSS4 Settings-the same as if I open the Settings appl.

It works (although very slow) for me until the first match. My player stands outside the line and won't move. Pressing space doesn't help. All I can do is zoom in and out, and move the camera...

I dont know what cpu and more are from my pc, but yesterday i tried at my friends pc ( with windows 98) and there it works

Open up Settings.ini and change DirectX to 1. Delete the Crash.ini file. Then open NSS4.exe (not Settings.exe). See if that starts.

If not, what version of Windows are you running and what graphics card do you have?

Well, it still doesn't work. I have 32 MB Ram (if exist):) Intel Pentium 4 and I have no clue which graphic/video card I haveB)

Are you sure you only have 32mb of RAM? If you have then you have no hope of running NSS4 I'm afraid. I'd be surprised if you can run NSS3 with that!

You need to know your gfx card to be able to update drivers. Go to the Control Panel, open System, Hardware, Device Manager. Look under the Display Adapter and see what it says. Then you need to go to the website of the company that make the graphics card and look for drivers.

When game starts to generate players it crashes,well beter fraze is freeze...
Any help here?

Have you tried patience? This happens to me a lot when it's generating players but usually if you just wait it keeps going.

I`ll try it again,but I tried it before...I`ll wait 10 min now :D but I`m not sure is that answer of problem,because I`m using CPU Pentium 4,AMD Sempron,2.5Ghz,512mb of RAM...

Try to play solitaire while you're loading the game, for me it's working :D

You have to download the zip file that is at the second post of this thread...

Then extract it inside your Alpha E\Languages folder, replacing the existing NSS4.blf...

When you open the alpha, in the settings screen, choose Hungarian, and there you go :)..

If the game opens without showing the settings screen, go to settings folder, and open settings.exe, select Hungarian, then open NSS4.exe and it should work :)

You need to have Alphae.zip That's the game

Then to get the languages, click here (http://www.newstarsoccer.com/newstarforum/showthread.php?t=4783) and download the zip in that thread. And unzip it into your alpha\languages folder. That will replace the existing language file, with the one that includes Hungarian ;)

Finally, select the language you prefer, using the game settings screen.
It appears when you start the game, or else try starting settings.exe :)
