Bonjour
I recently bought myself an import copy of the latest Pro Evolution game from Japan on PS2 (I'm a bit of football game addict) and they have included a game mode called 'Fantastista'. In this you start out in the J-League 2 and work your way up controlling just one player.
Can't help but think that people now know that this sort of thing is in demand. Not sure if its going to be included in the next European versions, but i immediately thought of the New Star series. Obviously its no way near as in depths as Si's masterpiece, but still.
Interestingly enough, the first time i ever played a game something like NSS was on 'International Superstar Soccer 2000' on the N64 where you had a Girlfriend etc., it was short and the translation was dodgy at best.
In the new Fifa there is an option just to control one player aswell, and the computer helps you out tells you where you're meant to be. Also when you're through on goal it gives you typical EA style dramatised camera, Heartbeat at al. So there is definitely some mainstream competition becoming apparent.
Anyway, just an observation, not sure if its relevant to be honest. Just thought i'd share the fact that "others" seem to realising there is demand for this sort of game.
