It's because you can get a nice rounded figure, 19.95, in dollars, whereas in pounds that'd be some crazy decimal. ;)
And yeah, it's British but with a worldwide community. I imagine you can get more American customers as well, comparing the countries' sizes.
New Star Football doesn't roll off the tounge as well either, and yeah.. previously soccer-ignorant Americans (or anyone else who calls it 'soccer') may have thought it was a "Rugby-for-girls" game :P

Ignorant americans(canadians XD)? It's not our fault it's called soccer! I mean, I hate american football, and don't even know what the difference between it and canadian football is.
New Star Soccer does sound better, and so does NSS compared to NSF.
Rugby-For-Girls. Nice one Nick. A large :P to you.

"Rugby-for-Girls" is a really ignorant comentary... but there are all of those type comentaries around the world.
Ignorant? I'm refering to American Football. I've watched entire matches, so I'm not ignorant ;)

Not sayin' you are one. Just sayin' that all types of those comentaries also appear in other sports.
But I say. Gun down the sport! I've watched like 5 matches and done a report about it and still don't understand the rules

Actually the word "Soccer" originated in England, albeit after the word football, but yeah, the main reason it's called New Star Soccer is because it sounds better. :)

I always thought soccer was an American term for out beautiful game.
I do agree the title of the game PROBABLY dose sound better with soccer instead of football, but is this because every one is so used to the title as it stands now.
New Star Football ( NSF ) to me NSF roles of the tongue better then NSS, but at the end of the day the title of the game isn’t so important.
I thought initially it was American but thinking about it has there ever been an American soccer game been released? Especially to the high standards of NSS. I don’t think so!

ha... really, it is, it's just the most specialized sport out there, everyone has a job to do and if you don't know what's going on it can be kind of confusing.
just think rugby league where only about 4 players can actually move the ball forward.

I liked the ESPN 2k5 NFL game, it was the first NFL game I enjoyed and also helped me understand the basic rules and stuff.

It couldn't be called NSF, because then the whole forum would be swamped with misplaced Deus Ex fans.
