NSS4 Intro?

PS. Maybe NSS4 could have a movie intro like FIFA or PES. It is kinda like a trailer but better. What do you think?

I for one would love to see a little movie intro of sorts. Begins with a toddler kicking a ball in the back garden. The camera follows the ball as it rolls into a bush, darkness envelops before the scene fades back in to said toddler, now 10/11, kicking a ball around with his mates in the street.

Some sort of transition from that scene to an organised match of some sorts, U18 level by appearance. Cue our 'star' to pull a few tricks and belt the ball towards the top corner. As the ball is on it's way, the camera pans around it, and by the time the goal is scored, the scene has transformed into a World Cup final or something like that.

Of course, you'd need some nice sound effects along the way, and a cheesey voice announcing "New Star Soccer... FOUR" at the end.

Addition: ...And it could end either you making a goal in the last minute or lifting up the cup and then fades out and the NSS4 logo appears.

also i dont know if this has been suggested, but why dont we put a school football team mode. where you start playing as a 7 year old and work your way up the years. doing some school work too to keep your players intellegence levels up. when i say school work i mean like maths or something.

Starting from like 7 would be nice but getting all of the maths tests done correctly or something like that is as Nick says 'it is to Sims' (not his exact words).

As for the movie, well it could end with a perspective of you, as the manager making a serious face or smiling.

3. one man (siread) sitting in front of a desk writing something (seen from behind)
4. the same man switch a computer
5. images of nss1 appears and then nss2 and then nss3
6. then a big flash or something and nss4 gets into life with a sort of match preview (ea sports fifa style)
7. the big logo nss4 stays on the screen and the voice says something "nss4 the time is .... now!"

As I think of it... NSS4 could show some demos after not having any movement in the main menu. (Like PES or FIFA 'Press the start button' screen that shows demos of teams playing.) They could feature famous soccer names as Simon Read, Nick Greg, Statto (Don't know your name) ect...

i have idea on start of this intro :D maybe all editors and ppl who are helping in game will send their photo ;]

on start there can be big logo of NSG, which will turn back and there will appear photos- in center- Simon's (bigger) and around him other ,,helpers". next photos will turn into logos of leagues which those ppl did (mine photo->polish, Nando's->portuguese logo, etc) next those logos will split up and there will appear photo of city (from sattelite for example), next maybe street without ppl and any ,,move" on it (here we have sound of wind, or something what will show that nothing happens- calm and quiet), next image of stadium (view from street- still calm :P), and next zoom on supporters (here real ,,roar" from mfootball stadiums what is normal for matches ;]). here we can turn intro to show some game :P so next some situations from game maybe with commentators in some languages (for example there could be shown premiership match Arsenal v Chelsea with Nick as commentator- only 1-2 sentences to 1 situation. something like this was in total club manager some years ago). and on end screen will appear logo of NSS4. hope that you understood

:P... I actually agree. Frankly, when I play a game I don't care who made as long it is good so I think some in game shots would be nice, kinda like JJU said.

They don't even really need to be in-game. For instance, LMA graphics for the intro are phenomenal, whereas the in-game graphics aren't.

A few of those 3D stadium views. A 3D player and a few goals would be fine.

I think the best is making a movie with some of the best players. Everyone that can make movies could try to make one and then we could decide witch one is better. I think i can make one... sony vegas and some other programs help making a movie fast.

For me the intro should be like. Heart beat sound at the begining and videos of maradona or other great players from last century playing when they were young. Then a nice music, some written stuff like "Do you have what it takes..." "To become a legend" or whatever, with some fade to black effects. Then some of the best goals from the best players ever. I think this would be enough. What do you think?

I don't think BlitzMax has a cross platform movie player (pc, mac, linux) so a "film" intro isn't an option unless I find one in the next few months.

I have an idea which may be simple to do. Think Maradona/Messi. :)

The scene would start with the NSS3 look where it would fade in with a young player (as yourself starting out) receiving receiving the ball just outside his box against the run of play catching the opposing team off guard (maybe a misplayed corner or just a simple bad pass). He would skin maybe 2 or 3 players in a tight area before running up to midfield with a little room to maneuver. A defender would come barging at him at which time he would skin him making the injury sign pop up then the game freezes. Maybe some sort of slowmotion transformation would take place where the game style would switch to the new NSS4 look then the players would proceed to bust a couple more moves then round the keeper to score a magical goal which causes the crowd to erupt in its excitement. He would then run to the corner flag with his teammates trailing him and it would zoom in real close to see him saluting the scowd then it freezes into a newspaper snapshot with the headline "A New Star has arrived!!!" and then the NSS4 logo emphatically makes its entrance (popping up/dropping in).

You could also do 1 half of the vid in the argie then move on to the Barca. Another option would be to recreate the Messi goal in NSS4 with a shadow of NSS3 Maradona over him (referencing the old and the new).

Any ways thats what I thought of. It references a play which actually occured while still previewing the new gameplay and such to be introduced. Hell if I can make that though.

Nice idea... These are all good ideas, will just have to see if Si can find a way to add it to BlitzMax (which I am sure it will be hard).

If it can't be added it could always become the NSS4 trailer.

Si, BlitzMax!?! Why ever?! Anyway.. I'm told in good faith the MPlayer mod can play video on Windows and Mac. Maybe the code can be fixed for Linux too? The code is in the Blitz Research forum apparently.

Nowadays anyone can make a song from computer programs (I have never tried it) and there for, maybe a new song, carefully made to fit every scene of the trailer would be good :D
