Well I made this thread with the feeling that anyone who didnt want to make a huuuge thread profiling their career can come in here and give quick updates on how they are doing. I guess I'll start out by talking about my Ajax beginning.

So my trial went well and Ajax signed me at 2200 a week with a 1275 goal bonus and 900 assist bonus. I figured Ajax has a great youth systme in real life and I wanted in on the action while hopefully playing along Wesley Sneijder (unfortunately I took his spot...ooops).

So far I've been training alot and taking rests occasionally to help build up my stats. When I have played though its been great as I link up play well and our strikers seem to have great finishing. So far I have played 11 matches out of 26 (I know thats not too good) and have a goal and 5 assists. The league is pretty tight as a result though and after 19 matches we have a 3 way tie at the top at 36 pts and only 3 pts seperate 1st from 5th. I'm honestly considering not training anymore because my rating as it is now works well with my team and if I get too good I dont wanna be running laps around defenders all day.

Thats all for now.

edit: now only 1pt separate 1st from 5th

Hmm this is a bit interesting. The manager noticed my brand spanking new BMX 7series and offered me half price then when I refused our relationship thingy went down. He's one crazy fella, not even a week had passed and he wanted me to give t up. Crazy. :)

Well we just grazed through to the CL final against Valencia with a 2-1 agg. victory over Real Madrid.

I think I should change the thread title since nobody else seems to be giving any quick updates.

Well, I decided to stay at Ajax for at least another 1/2 yr. In the January window if a good club comes calling I may pack my bags and go but the only thing I did early in my second season was renegotiate my contract so now I jumped from 2200 to 80000 with bonuses of 1500 on assists, goals and clean sheets.

Maybe you should decided to change your taste in the upcoming season? Besides, playing in La Liga or Premier League wouldn't hurt.

Yep, if you recieve that much you might be Premier League material.

If the manager still doesn't like you, it would be a good idea to move. Don't be surprised if an event pops up telling he "accidentaly" hit you with a cone :P.

I was seriously thinking I should mke the switch but those leagues are like the promised land so I wanna work my way up. Doesnt mean I wanna play for crappy teams but a club like lets say Werder Bremen or Lyon wouldnt be too bad.

No Prem team has offered anything for me yet though.

We are on good terms again now. Its awesome how far wins alongside good performances will take you.

ok ... i'll join in!
started last night a new career in expert mode (still too tough for me ..)
being a central midfielder right footed (average height) of maltese nationality (i'd fancy a go at national team sooner or later) i decided to play in italy
brescia offered me a trial (3rd level) and consequent contract (i don't remember the terms but not too good anyway) of 1 year (my standard choice).
at the beginning is always bench and "standard" 4 of evaluation but now (after 10 weeks) i'm starting putting up at least 1 tackle and 3 passes that guarantee me a 5 sometime.
unfortunately time for training is none and same for relations as i always try to step into the field.
relation with the manager is around 30% and i start to have some drinking habit just to keep myself happy  and confident.
the boss let me at 60' but always fielding me in "wrong" position LM.
he asked me about becoming a defender but it's already too difficult like this and i cannot yet afford a career based on 1 or 2 as evaluation every game.:(

more will follow ....

I followed the advice of another member on the board and focused mainly on building up stamina to start the game. Its great because you recover quicker which equates to more time training while still having the stamina to go out there matchday and kick *** without having to be subbed. Just take a couple weeks off and focus on that.

As soon as you get you stamina in a hgh level you can train a lot (but not too much) and not have to worry about being fit for the match.

well .... i agree but also discovered just a few flaws in this tactic
building stamina is vital but on the other hand is useless if you don't train some pace at early stage...
in exp mode You have much less points to allocate and if your performances are not good enough the fans will start disliking you lowering thus your physical skills; in this situation no matter your stamina or pace it lower in practical to 1 or similar.
i have now asked for transfer during the winter gap and moved to bologna (still serie b).
my basic evaluation is still 4 but once i managed one 7 (1 assist) nd for the time being still keeping the relations above 40%.
i stay less on the pitch but getting better performances.
while at brescia i was often bypassed due to lack of speed: i was more minutes on but with lower results.
the beauty of this game is that everything is somehow related and important so you must balance your improvement too

Nando

When I trained stamina I would train pace after.

Ladrinski
05-10-2007, 12:23 PM
i want to test my theory and i will start (sooner or later) a new career for this purpose.
just enough stamina to be able to stay at least 40% fit and get in as sub but the rest i'll add it to pace and see.
if i stay on the pitch 15' but very pro-actively then the fans would love me and raise my training effectiveness then stamina of course will be improved.
i'll keep the results posted.

(the only black spot of the above is that i'm rubbish so might not be able to do well even if i could  )

Are you using a keyboard or gamepad

Ladrinski
05-11-2007, 09:12 AM
a keyboard.
i've tried on ps2 to learn to use the joypad but i never got the hang of it; being a bit "old fashioned" i'm strongly right-handed and found very difficult to keep a straight line with my left hand. LOL

Well I requested a transfer in the January window and quite a few big name clubs came calling (Chelsea, Juventus, Arsenal among others). I eventually decided to go to the club I feel most comfortable with advancing my career which is Lyon. They currently rest 3rd in the French league and I am very eager to play alongside the likes of Fred and Juninho. I signed a 2 yr 100660/wk contract with 1800 bonus on clean sheets, assists and goals. My current value is 25 million. Sad to leave Ajax but I gave them a good going away present with 5 assists in a surprise 7-0 drubbing of Chelsea in the first knockout round of the CL. I feel assured knowing I did all I could at Ajax and its time to move on so Sneijder can get back his spot in the starting 11.

Lyon here I come.

That will be a looooong time coming. France is alot of fun and we are currently sitting in 1st with only a point between us and Lille. Not so sure I would go back to Ajax, maybe join an MLS team since thats the new trend.

Well, the second season at Lyon started out well for me personally on the pitch but a string of events lead me to reconsider whether the Lyon locker room was right for me. I had a teammate taking performance enhancing drugs, got in a couple parking lot fenders benders which resulted in heated arguments, and there was also a locker room fight. Something good to note is the fact I got a beautiful girlfriend who I may eventually marry since she's humble and a homely kinda woman. Upon discussing team issues with her I decided to take a break from the team and focused on my personal concerns for the Month of December. On December 31st I turned in my transfer request as my lady and I decided this was not the environment for us. My short lived stay at Lyon was now wrapping up.

Amidst it all I scored 23 goals and 23 assists to lead my team to 1st in League 1 going into Christmas. Being a striker isnt bad at all. I attracted the interest of many big clubs across Europe and was pretty close to striking a deal with Barcelona before Atletico Madrid convinced me to swing their way. I am excited at the prospect of linking up with Fernando Torres and helping to lift the team out of 8th spot and helping them obtain a CL spot.

Well, thats where my business is at currently so I'll update yall later.
