Uefa approves artificial pitches

Uefa president Johansson has given plstic pitches the green light
Uefa says it will allow European matches to be played on artificial pitches from the start of next season.
European football's governing body made the decision at a meeting of its Executive Committee on Wednesday.

Uefa explained that the move "follows comprehensive studies into the sporting and medical aspects of using artificial playing surfaces."

They can be used subject to complying with Uefa quality criteria but there use will not be made obligatory.

i say no because it takes a fair bit of fun out of euro matches when spanish or italian or portuguese players slip over in the middle of their fansy tricks because of englands sh**y weather. :D

Anything that could put an end to Ronaldo's (Mank U) career would be a good thing, so I'm all in favour!

Seriously, i think it's a good idea in colder countries, but don't see them really ever over-taking natural grass in Europe or America etc...
