Just got my SPL player pics so far and they are 95 x 95. Can anyone tell me how to make them 80 x 60 from Irfanview? Thanks

The only way I know is croping the image and just leave the face of the players.

Right thanks. I'll give it a shot. Does it matter if its anything below 80 x 60

I don't know... If you make it below 80x60 besure to save a backup file. This way you can wait for JJU's, Si's or any other mod/admin answer doi9ng something and not losing the information if they tell you that below the specific size is prohibired.

I use Irfanview all the time. Mainly for logos and player pictures for other sports games, but the idea is the same. Resizing like you are asking is a snap. I'm assuming you'd prefer to keep the entire image and just "batch" resize them all correct? Here are the steps:

1) Launch Irfanview (I use 3.98)

2) File->Batch Conversion/Rename

3) Locate the folder with all of the 95x95 images, and select them all and click "Add All" to move them to the window on the left

4) Make sure to select a new output directory, so you don't overwrite the originals!

5) Make sure the Output format is whatever format you want to convert to. JGP I'm guessing?

6) Click on the "Use Advanced Options" checkbox, and click on the "Set Advanced Options" button

7) Click the "RESIZE:" box

8) Click the "Set New Size" radio button, and the "Set Both Sides To:" radio button.

9) Make sure that the "Preserve Aspect Ratio" button below is UNchecked, sicne you will be stretching the images a bit with your new dimensions.

10) Type the appropriate width and heigth values (80 and 60) in the appropriate boxes

11) Make sure "Use Resample Function" is checked.

12) Click OK, to close the advanced dialog, then click "Start" to kick off the process.

If it doesn't work, or you have a question, let me know.

I have done all of this and it says 0 Errors and 22 Warnings. I then went to the file that the Pictures were in, and they were still the same. Is there anything else to do? Oh and thanks very much for that as that is quite a bit of progress made in such a small time. It will be only a silly thing that has been missed out

Hmm.. I can think of one time where I remember getting a result like this. It sounds like your Output directory is the same as your Input directory, but you have not enabled the option to overwrite the original files. So the program is trying to do the batch conversion, but it can't write the files.

Tell me, in the results window, what do the warnings say? That will tell us if I am right or not.

I would suggest that you DO NOT overwrite your original files. So try again, but make sure you select a different Output folder.

I may regret saying this, but if you have any problems with resizing or cropping, just keep the original image, and I'll do the dirty work myself with PSP.

You can download a trial version of Paint Shop Pro and use it for 30 days. It's makes resizing and cropping a doddle. I would suggest collecting all your images, then use the trial period to resize them. We can put some PSP instructions up here if you need them.
