View Full Version : North vs South Powerbase Poll
From 1970 to 2000 teams from the North won the league an impressive 25 times. In the past 4 years Arsenal have won the league twice, FA Cup twice, and been runners up in the league on both occassions they didn't win it.
Coupled with the emergence of big-spending Chelsea and the decline of sorts seen at Man Utd, and Liverpool's fall from their status of the 80s, is the superiority of football now planted in London?

Of course not! Chester are from the north :o
Seriously I'd say it's moved down south, and will be staying there for quite a long time. (and i cant say im sad because those United fans have been getting far too cocky in recent years...)
so true... and as much as I hate Man U I always respected fact they deserved to win so many titles in recent years, a respect that doesn't seem to be forthcoming from many ManKs these days towards the Arsenal.. but we shall see if that comes when we conquer Europe this season!

 :x give them time.
p.s he have our 4 r's. Rio, Ruud, Rooney and Ronaldo
interesting deabate you think of the North Teams you think of Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle etc, but ywhat about your Burnleys and Burys. Downsouth you got your Spurs, Chelsea but what about your Swindons and Bristol Citys and Yeovil.
I think the the divide is even. :)

 Great clubs from the north:
Leeds United, MANCHESTER UNITED, Newcastle United, Middlesborough,
Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool, Celtic+Rangers? (and Chester!!!)
South:
Charlton Athletic, Arsenal and Chelsea
No offence to anyone intended but Leeds and Middlesbrough don't really fall into the 'great team' category, I was moreso talking about the top powers in the game, previously Liverpool (80s) and Man Utd (90s), and how it appears to be changing... The lower league teams don't come into the equation really...
and don't even get me started on the Scottish teams!!
