Hi All,

Anyone been playing with the tactics editor yet? Here's my first effort at some custom tactics...

Notes -

* Based on default 5-3-2 tactic.
* Central defender (no. 4) plays deeper back, as a sweeper. In general, the defensive lines are deeper at the back, and more advanced when you're in attack.
* Wing backs move into midfield roles instead of trying to act as wingers. The outside midfielders move up as wingers when in attack, and the wing-backs move up and in to support the central midfielder.
* Strikers are staggered - no.9 is advanced as the centre forward, and no. 10 is placed further back (so it's really more of a 5-3-1-1 style now).

Have a play and see how it works. Anyone else got some tactics they've created?

Heard of 4-4-2 Attack, but my version is 4-4-2 defend where the wingers draw back..

More tactics uploads - this is a refinement of my previous upload.

* Adjusted target-man positioning so he gets called less for offside
* Edited some of the placements for better offense/defense transition.

Playing with this system really transforms the team - I now have aggressive play on the flanks, a really dynamic passing system and a much more potent positioning for strikers. The biggest weakness is that you need a really good no. 8 to control the centre of the field.

Does anyone else have any tactics to add? Could we perhaps start building a tactics database to add more variety to NSS4? Will NSS4 even use the same tactics system?

Ok, i've added tac attachments to the list. The one i've attached is the standard 3-4-3 in the game. It was just a test to see if it worked. :D

Thanks Si - slightly unrelated question, will NSS4 use these .tac files, or is the tactics system being overhauled as well? If it isn't, I might start making a bunch of these as possibles for NSS4 if that would help....

Hopefully it will use the same system, but the match engine is still a way off, so I can't say for sure.

No, they aren't compatible.
