I had just left Dumbarton Academy and found myself wondering "what am i going to do with my life". I read my local newspaper The lennox herald and found out that Dumbarton under 17's were hosting trials.
I got my dad to drive me there and i went to the trials at Strathclyde Homes stadium, Gerry Mcgabe the manager asked me some questions and then gave me a trial. He was very pleased with what i did and offered me a first team contract worth 1000 a week  the next week i had my first game against Alloa Athletic. I was nervous and i made a total foul up of it, Gerry Mcgabe told me "son you just cant cut it on the pitch when it boils down to it, better luck next time" I was absolutely gutted and i left the pitch in a terrible mood. I hit the bottle hard and received a heck of a lot of abuse from the fans. The next few months was spent doing some intensive training, near the end of the season and i still wasnt picked, then the second last game of the season came. we needed a win to take the Scottish Second division title by edging out the team we were facing, Gretna. Steven Grindlay and Chris Boyle gave me some intensive training and i was finally picked for the first team. I couldnt believe it and when i went out on the pitch all i heard was the fans chanting the song "the sons were the ones" that alone was enough to spur me on. In the early few minutes i received a pass from Andy Rodgers and i sprinted it by 1 player, Mathieson the goalkeeper looked large in the goals and tried to intimidate me, the defenders closed me down and without thinking twice i powered it aiming for the top corner of the net, the ball slotted in perfectly and i was greeted by Chris Boyle tackling me to the ground saying "By god you did it kid! i never thought you could do it well done!" the fans started up a chant of lets go _______ mental lets go _______ mental A NA NA NA and i was ecstatic, near the end of the match i tired out and was subbed to make way for Iain Russell but the damage was done and i had won the League for Dumbarton :blimey: after the match an Agent for Glasgow Rangers approached me and offered me a contract worth 5000 a week. Wanting to play for the team i grew up loving i gladly accepted and made my debut against Kilmarnock half way through the season. Before the game the captain Barry Ferguson came up to me and said "Le guen is giving you a miracle oppertunity take full advantage of it and dont let the fans down" I promised to Barry i would play for my life on the pitch and with that i walked down the tunnel behind Sionko. I ran onto the pitch with butterflys in my stomach. I had to adjust quickly to higher quality football but i just couldnt. The nerves were to much for me to handle and i made a foul up of it. Missing a absolute sitter i hung my head in shame and was substituted later on. A few months later and i wasnt getting any games, i was also feeling homesick and wanted to return to Dumbarton. I handed in my Resignation and told the press i wanted to return to the sons of the rock,Dumbarton, soon after Dumbarton wanted to sign me back on a contract worth 7000 a week. I gladly accepted and headed back to Dumbarton with my family and when i arrived i was immediately told i was playing against Livingston. I was nervous as heck and when i went out on the pitch the fans went wild. 30 minutes into the game i took the ball past 2 players and had a long range shot. The ball nestled nicely under the keepers outstretched arms edging us 1-0 ahead. Soon after i found myself once again with the ball, my energy level was dipping and i knew i didnt have long left on the pitch before i was eventually subbed. I sprinted as fast as i could towards the Livingston goal and was brought down hard by a midfielder. I had to be taken off the pitch with injury but i had done enough to secure a win for Dumbarton  . After a month of treatment i returned to the pitch to face clyde. I ran out on the pitch but secretly my ankle was screaming from where it was injured a month before. the match kicked off and immediately i took the ball up the pitch, my ankle nearly gave way so i kicked the ball to Andy Rodgers who ran past a defender and hit the ball hard aiming for the top corner. He hit the post and despite my ankles pleading i sprinted into the box and smashed the ball as hard as i could, my ankle gave way and i stumbled over bringing down a Clyde player, i looked up expecting to see the ball going over the bar but it dipped under the bar and nestled nicely into the net. I was on cloud 9 and couldnt believe that i had scored. I got up and ran over to the Dumbarton fans and one fan jumped over the gate and gave me a top with my name on the back. I was ecstatic that the fans loved me so much so i walked over to Gerry Mcgabe and said, gaffer can you put that in my kit bag im gonna hang it up on my wall. He looked slightly puzzled but nodded anyway. I ran back onto the pitch and play resumed. At the end of the Game we won 3-0 and celebrated wildly. I walked towards my BMW and i was approached by a man wearing a Clyde top. I thought i was in deep trouble and then the person said. Im Bob Harris i represent the Clyde board and i would like to bring you into our team. I politely rejected and he looked positively fuming when i drove away.

another part of my story
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh my head...i think we celebrated to much after the game....and whats that in my bathroom!!! oh jeez....Mcgabes gonna be furious...
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: thats my first real memory after the game...i didnt want to mention the thong so i left that out...oops i mentioned it

Moving swiftly on :S.
I went down to training that morning looking absolutely terrible. My hair was a mess and my appearence....well lets just say Mcgabe made me change clothes and take a shower before training....after 3 cups of coffee and a top and trousers change i went out to the pitch to start training. Gerry wasnt to pleased that i turned up drunk and made me train twice as hard as usual, i was physically worn out. Later on that week we had a match and i was picked as Captain. I couldnt believe it, partly to do with the hang over. I drove down to Strathclyde Homes stadium and the fans cheered me as i went. The match started and the only thought on my mind was "GOAL" a few minutes later i jinked past a player. Did a one two with Gemmell and on first touch 30 yards from goal i shot it full force at the keeper. The keeper must of been keen to get out of the road because he dived the wrong way and the ball whizzed into the net. I was ecstatic, slightly thinking it was a fluke but ecstatic none the less. I continued to play well and then i had another chance. A quick pass into space from Andy Rodgers and i was off. Sprinting as fast as i could avoiding tackles as i went. I jinked it past 3 players and then chipped it aiming for the top corner. It hit the post and rebounded back to me. I controlled it and then hit it as far and low as i could past the keepers outstretched hand and into the back of the net. Later on i was tackled hard in the box and awarded a penalty.
The keeper crouched across his line and plainly reminded me of Doctor Zoidberg as he moved side to side. I did a slow humiliating walk up to the ball, yawned, and then blasted the ball into the top corner, meanwhile the keeper hit the ground hard. Splat is suitable i think. I ran off celebrating my hat trick with my team mates and then towards the crowd. As i ran past them they were shouting "YOUR THE BEST WE HAVE KIDDO" at the time i was still 16 and this was high praise. My Birthday came shortly after and the manager gave me a signed ball. When i looked at the name i was shocked to see it was Gerrards name on the ball. My bond with the manager was stronger than ever.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: the reason i have not posted my international history is because im Scottish and the game kinda turned me into a Afghanistan dude so...meh

I went home that day and placed the ball on a shelf beside the shirt the Dumbarton fan gave me.I went to a posh restaurant that night with my family and most of the people there recognised me from Rangers and gave me a pretty evil glance. But some Dumbarton fans were there also and they greeted me warmly and congratulated me on my Hat Trick  after they were done i settled down and eat my Salmon en Cróute happily. After that i went to a pub with the other lads. Being only 17 i chose to have a Cola much to the dismay of the others. I went home and read the newspaper and saw the Headline
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hat Trick Haining, Dumbarton Hero
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The newspaper had dubbed me as a up and coming superstar. Ally Mccoist even said it himself. I was absolutely delighted and I went to sleep. The next day i received a Call from Motherwell offering me a contract. The chance to return to the SPL was tugging at my mind. So i decided to accept the offer. I went out to the pitch at Strathclyde homes one last time and scored 2 goals. After the match i took a microphone and made an emotional speech to the fans where i ended up close to tears after telling them i was moving to Motherwell. When i left the grounds the fans were chanting "Hat Trick Haining" I smiled at that and knew that one day i would hear that again. I enjoyed some good form at Motherwell and the manager Terry Butcher was always congratulating me. But i knew where my heart lied. I put in my transfer request and once again Dumbarton came calling. I was suprised they wanted me back and nearly in tears i went to Strathclyde Homes and signed a contract worth 10000 a week. I had returned to the club i started off at. The fans greeted me warmly but as i went back down the tunnel i heard a Ball Boy mutter to his friend " Traitor " i knew then that i had broke the hearts of some fans and in that instant my whole career flashed before my eyes. As i went in the changing room i was greeted by David Bagan. A new signing from Rangers Reserves who i used to train with on a regular basis. That night i took out my diary and this is the entry that i emotionally put in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Diary,
I now know where my heart lies, its not with a big classy club like Arsenal or Manchester United. Its with the humble club that started my career. Dumbarton Football Club. So from this day forward i devote myself as a Loyal Son of the rock willing to do anything for the good of the club. Seeing David at the club was a big suprise for me and hearing that ball boy brand me a traitor wrecked my day. But i know i can win the hearts of the fans back so from this day forward. I now devote myself fully to Football
--------------------------------------------------------------------
And i did. I lost most of my friends and part of my family didnt want to know me. But i had made a vow i intended to keep and i kept that Vow close to me. Eventually all the fans loved me again and i was enjoying a good run of form. In 10 games i had scored 20 goals and i was the Captain, Freekick Taker, And penalty taker of the club. I made a few assists along the way and i intend to stay at Dumbarton for as long as i can.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet again to be continued when i can be bothered. The next segment will be more focused on football and my training, feuds with players and the coach alike.
