So far, in my career, I have done everything. I have got Cowdenbeath to the SPL and was awarded with a transfer to my favourite team, Dunfermline Athletic. It took me two seasons to get Dunfermline lifting their first ever league title and then only one to get them conquering Europe. After a few seasons, and a few bust ups with the manager, I left and headed off to Barcelona. There was no difficulty settling in here, playing with world class players every week and still, banging in the goals, every game. Also my Scotland career was booming. A World Cup and a European Cup were just some of what I was winning for them. Playing for Barca was a breeze (excluding games aganst R. Madrid) that provided a challenge. Yet again though, the titles came in and Barca were number 1. I was just too easy, so I decided to head for England to play for my favourite team, Liverpool. This is where everything got exciting and challenging.
Liverpool were too good for the championship division but not good enough for the Premiership. They'd win the Championship by a clear margin (when I'd check out the tables) and finish rock bottom in the Premiership. I arrived at Liverpool with us being rock bottom, 20 points away from 4th bottom. It looked hopeless, even before I arrived. With only 12 or so games to go, I knew we'd have to win every single one to stand a chance.
Our first game was against Aston Villa, a team who were just above the relegation point. The teams went in goal-less at half time with the fans getting restless dying to see their new striker (mwah) get some goals. The teams kicked off and I immediently ran the length of the park with the ball after a corner from Villa and smacked the ball into the roof of the net. 1-0. It eased the pressure.
Full-Time arrived and the final score was 3-0 to Liverpool. With me getting two and Cisse poaching one. Villa missed golden chances however and should have gotten more.
As the games approached, Liverpool started to show what they are capable of and I started to win the fans over (after them being unhappy with my Dunfermline tattoo) We won every game we played, due to most of the teams being mid-table teams and we were 6 points away from 4th bottom with 3 games to go (other results did not go our way), but the week eventually came. We were up against the mighty Arsenal. The last time I had played them, they weren't so mighty, falling to the hands of Barca by 8 goals to nil (15 goals on agg.) Was such a great game. Hopefully fear was struck into the players this game.
The first half however, it was a whole new Arsenal squad. They were all over us and I was only able to squander a half chance. Liverpool went in at half time 2 goals down. We then came out looking a new and better side. Cisse scored a poaching goal (surprise, surprise) after I forced a save from the keeper. We were dominating, but just not getting the goal we needed. Then disaster struck. Henry was brought down. Penalty and Terry sent off. Henry stepped up and struck it down the middle BUT! it was saved by Flygenring. He then kicked it out and the ball went to Cisse who was tackled but the ball came to me. 40 yards out, I thought, 'bugger it' and hit the ball. The ball went high into the air and curled into the goalkeepers top corner. 2-2 The match then restarted with 10 mins to go and I was taken off!! Gerrard then ran up the park and struck it. The keeper saved it and Cole cleared only for the ball to hit Idrizj's head and trickle into the net. 3-2 final score.
Liverpool were now 3 points away with 2 games to go. We won the 2nd last one against Newcastle by a massive margin and that put us equal with Newcastle (below on goal difference however). One more game to go though - Everton!
Crystal Palace - plus 1
Everton - plus 1
Newcastle - Equal
