Sensational Soccer Beta 1.15a

Ok, we are approaching the release version of Sensational Soccer now. Here is the current beta:

It expires on Sept 10th. You will see a new Gallery option. This is work-in-progress, but i think you can guess what it will show. I still need to update the credits in this section but remind me if you contributed in anyway. :)
Please test the league and cup modes, especially the training option in the league mode. It allows you to build up players skills. Beware, that leaving players out of the first 11 will mean they will slowly lose skill points over the season.

Right, I love the music and the Gallery. I'm a bit disappointed about online being taken out... but anyway, I like the training mode a lot - the problem is I can't move my players whilst doing it. The rest of the features are ace.

I see you've done a good work in the presentation of the game. The song is nice!! Although at the beginning it sounded like a western song to me :P

Still I can see you didnt take my advice to change the font used for almost everything (except the menus...). I mean, the font used in the stadistics of the match, language selection, etc. I think it's hard to read and should be bolder. But it's just an opinion. I just wanted to point it out since you seem to be focusing in the game presentation.

I've played a cup with no problems. But I still suggest to offer more options when creating a cup: 1 match rounds, small league and then cup (like champions or world cup), etc.

I used eJay to make the music. Basically it's an easy to use music program with 1000s of royalty free samples. You just have to plop them onto the screen and create a song. :)

I'll look at the font. It should be easy to change it.

And yes. NSS3 will have this sensational engine by the end of this week. :D

Actually I didn't see myself as a contributor because of my Uruguayan league, but I guess it was not the biggest contribution :(
Rest of the game seems really nice, used the training part, seems really good :)
And I like the music, it gives something special to the experience of playing the game :)

I like the idea of the position on the pitch graphics... except for the fact I'm red-green colourblind. I have to get really close to the screen to even try to detect what position the players are playing in. I don't want you to take this option away, but could you provide a textual option as well?

Also, would you like me to make you a logo for Sensational Soccer? the current one looks very... wordart :)

I got a bug, at the start of a match, I saw that there was a striker playing as a keeper :blimey: and then I couldn't switch him to his real position.

Dont know if I've found another "bug". Shouldn't stadiums names be exactly the same as the club names in the database? (like the badges thing, so that they are linked). Cause I've seen that Athletic Bilbao in the stadiums folder is named Atletico Bilbao.

Was this a single game, league or cup? Were you controlling Nacional? Did you move any team members about yourself or was the striker in goal automatically?

It was a cup, the second match I think against Barcelona
I was controlling Nacional, and the player appeared there, and I couldn't change him. And The first match I'm sure the correct player was at GK

Sorry to bother again on bug issues, but it's a beta so that's what betas are for ;)
I was playing a league with Liverpool (BTW couldn't see Bellamy nor Crouch) and I got into a mixture of match and passing training :blimey:
I entered a match and there was a red sign top left which I think means "cones" but to my surprise, in a pass I hit a cone (invisible one) and I heard the noise it makes when you hit those at training, and them the cone sign top left showed one less :blimey:

I had the same problem as Fabrizio, (while playing Arsenal, and no Henry...) and also a similar one but this time after a Set Pieces training, the instruction was to score a free kick with the lob button, it didnt let me use the other ones, so I passed it quite simple but then in the following match it was like in the set pieces, I could only use the lob button.

I had to go training with another guy in a set piece that let me use all the buttons and that solved the problem.

I couldn't use Rooney for Man United either - plus, the players with the best dribbling stats acted like they had the worst, and visa versa.

pfftt.. Henry is in Arsenal's top 22, Rooney is in the Mank U 22, and Crouch and Bellamy both appear in the Pool 22.

Of course, this is using the latest files, where I have done my best to at least make some starting XIs a little more realistic.

Happened with me also with the goalie thing. It was with Celtic in a cup I had made up myself. First game went swimmingly and then it all went pearshaped with the goalie thing. Still won the cup though thanks to everytime they scored Kenny Miller answere with 2 goals :D

Hey JJU I think I got a serious issue with the DB for SS.
I wanted to play with Shaktar Donetsk, from Ukraine, and the players were all GKs :blimey: :blimey: !!!

I don't disbelieve it... seeing as Ukraine has very few players, something needs to be done to the SS logic to make sure it creates a more balanced squad ;)
