Sensational Soccer beta 2 available

Ok, I fixed a few things, so here's the new beta:

Delete your old folder and extract this one. It will still expire on May 10th. :)

Fixed:
Fixed squad data using Statto's editor. (Please fill in any blank spaces in squads.)
Fixed wrong appearances after 1st league game
Changed "Call for ball" button to say "Change Player" button
Fixed stadiums not loading
Fixed mouse control messing up menu screens
Player controls stay the same when playing away
Fixed Load League

World Cup mode
Radar changing colour

Hey Si, could it be made so the standard of dribbling is high for all top-flight players? Because I can't dribble two yards without getting caught up with most players, and that's a bit unrealistic...

Found a couple of bugs when playing 2 player-
The shoot button doesn't work for player 2, and also for set pieces the direction of the kick is fixed. (its always pointed about 45 degrees to the right of the way the player is facing and can't be moved)

Also, is it possible to turn off autopass like in NSS? (I can't remember which Fkey does it, and I can't load up NSS to check because I have Win ME & the latest NSS betas do not work...)

I think its F9 the key for turning autopass off. I use it in NSS3 but I find it very difficult to use it here as it takes time to charge the power bar and face your teammate, in all that time an opponent usually block my pass or simply steal the ball from my player.

Exactly Kaldow... so yeah, I think there should be a button which passes to your nearest open team-mate without you have to hold down the power button.

First of, this game is brilliant.

Secondly, only one problem though (in my mind its a problem), the change player is automatic and not manual, It would be better if you had to decide when to change the player.

Cool. I'd just like to say I'm playing a league season with Barcelona and for some odd reason random players have really low points in random stats. For example, Ronaldinho's flair was 1, his positioning was 3 and his strength was 1, which left him being useless.

Uh oh... this could be an editor issue. Looking into it...

EDIT No, his stats are fine at least in my edition of the data... flair 29, positioning 28 and strength 21.

I did notice that Paul Robinson's handling dropped to 5 in the league. I think strange things might be happening after the first game of the season. I'll look into it.

Well, another thing is that there are gaps in the team selections, which are filled with players with no names, who come from Trinidad & Tobago (I think) and all stats are 1. But they're good when they're on the other team. :D

That's a result of the way the editor exported players into Sensational. I've since improved the formula so there should be fewer gaps. However, I have no idea why they're from Trinidad and Tobago.

The error is: INVALID STREAM HANDLE.

You haven't extracted the full contents of the zip file.

Open the zip then drag the Sensational Soccer folder to your desktop.

Dadiduekappa, this isn't the place for new suggestions ;) but this has been suggested before. it's not going to happen for NSS3 but may (or may not) find it's way into NSS4.

I have some very cool news...

I have a very early and very rough ONLINE MODE for Sensational Soccer running on a LAN. Yep, i'm using one computer to control one team and another computer to control the other. I still need to do a ton of work to get this to a state where people can play each other over the internet, like create a lobby, organise the team/tactics screens, sort out substitutions during matches and so on, but things look very promising at the moment. Whether that's just because it's on a LAN i don't know, but there will be something for people to try out, hopefully next week. B)

I agree. While NSS4 and the whole NSS serie seems a bit too much concentrated on a single career to implement in some way the multiplayer option, SS indeed will reach another level with a solid multiplayer modality ;)

Maybe not take away the expiration date completely but extend it another week or so. I have also been wanting to play since I couldnt when it was out because of exams.

I think some of point of the expiry is that people don't play and report bugs from old versions. I'm sure Si will be releasing a new beta soon enough, but please remember, he isn't releasing betas for your personal enjoyment, it's to make the final product better ;)
