View Full Version : Where do I start my career?

While waiting for the registry code to work I've been creating random named games and playing out 10 matches over and over to see how the game works. Being American though I've only been trying the two American soccer (that's football to most of the world) leagues and cannot get anywhere near the same results that some board posters have claimed.

I've tried both the MLS and the AA1 league in the states and it was a disaster either way. I expected that from the pro league but the other one was just about as bad.

The best I ever got was 4 goals after 10 games with a 4.4 rating (2 slightly good games, 8 horrible ones). No matter what I try in games almost invariably I get a result that my skill isn't high enough, even during the good games. And since there's a max limit at creation of 10 points in any stat I don't see how on earth I could possibly make it any better.

Yet when I looked at these forums there were several folks saying things like how they'd scored 29 goals in those 10 unregisterred games, or that other guy who claimed to be a multi millionaire already in his first year. How on earth is it possible? Is there some special way of stacking your skills at creation that I'm not aware of? Am I just playing in really difficult leagues? Are they cheating by editting their skills? Are they just repeating games from a saved state until they get a good result? Or is it just that am I so incredibly unlucky?

Having never played in the American leagues in NSS1 (well, not having played NSS1 for any longer than 30 minutes to be honest!) I couldn't answer.

Am interested why your code doesn't work though, PM me and I'll check it out for you. Please include the player name and reg code you were provided.

Oops, no, I meant waiting to receive the code not that I had one already that didn't work. Sorry for the confusion there and thanks for replying. I got my code now so I'm going to go try and start the real career.

I have tried the American league and it was not hard for me. The truth to me is that it is just by dumb luck that you start good or bad. That is all I see but if it is not in your case I won't argue 'cos this is just a hypothesis.

It depends on the club.

If you start among the best, you'll struggle. I'm waiting for my Reg Code, and I was playing for Telford, then moved to West Brom.

Try small clubs, then advance.

But which leagues ( and clubs?? ) do you recommend to star with because it will also be difficult for me ( I think) to choose a club where I can get a good start with

Maybe lower divisions of any country will do?? If you play at a low division, then it doesn't really matter the league ;)

I think it's a wiser to move to start as in a low division as possible and hone your skills before taking a step up to the Premiership. Your initial skills are never going to be able to sustain a decent level at the top.

That helps

Thanks!

Not sure about the benefits of cheating, but it's up to you unless a save file is made crap ;)

When youcheat like increasing skills or your wage, it makes the game too simple, and makes you loose itrest in it since its too easy....

How do you even cheat? Seems a bit strange as the whole point of the game is working your way to the top from a lowely baby to the henchest footballer in the world. or maybe thats just how i see it?

You are right Dr.Tchock, and since you dont know how to cheat, you dont need to know, trust me...

Cheat is done by modyfing the .dat files and save games, so that you can upgrade yous stats, but it can really blow your game, make you start over ;) and I actually can't understand cheating, it's kinda trying to cheat yourself actually ...

Yes, but they're still other ways of cheating, so not real benefit no matter which one you use ;)

Which is the best points selecting to start? I mean, how many points i should select in set pieces, dribbling, etc.
And which club would you select?

It depends on what position you want to play ;) I would recommend starting at a lower level club / league. There is plenty of info in the NSS1 forum to get an idea.

but tell me, how do you cheat?

Err... no. Come on, gaming of this sort is supposed to be fun. I can seriously see no point in cheating in NSS1. It's easy enough without it if you use your brain a little.

poor bassco, tell him, if he wants to ruin his game experience let him... it's his decision
I was wondering too... cheaters edit by temselves .dat files or there is a program they use?

Fabrizio Gatti
01-22-2007, 04:30 PM
I believe they modify .dat files, but that can seriously ruin their savegames....
Also, if you make a minimized effort, you can come up with a nice career, cheat free one

Zack_21

I say go for Rangers or Celtic first.

Easy actually,(I'm sorry, this is just for help if u are playing badly)

First open the save file. Then change the game save into notepad or others file. Open and u will see some number. Change the number into 30 (only your skill number)

* If u change other than what suppose to, you will have error in loading it.
