So what does everyone think about this one - alot of diplomacy before the game but will it really matter? Can the Roos make it? And does anyone think this is the biggest game in the world this week?

I don't know if it's the biggest, though we have in Europe games like Norway-Czeck Republic, last week was ManU vs Chelsea (Red Devils won!!!!) but Uruguay will go to Germany, but the place won't come easily...

I think Australia have done alright in the Mindgames department Dukes looks like he's hitting form at the right time, for once we actually have a decent manager. The Roos are a great side most of the squad are playing Top Flight in Europe and as much as it pains me to say it Archie Thompson is doing well for Melbourne in the A-League (but he'd play better then last week).
If the roos can hold on in Montevideo (draw or lose by no more then 1) I think they'll go back to Germany, I'll be at Sydney on the 16th and I think I'll be crying after the game whatever the result, I guess it's hard for most of you guys to fathom how much qualifying means to us, it means a hell of alot, especially with Johnny Warren last year and with FIFA taking away an instant spot, 32 years of heart break could end or extend to 36 years, it means everything to Australia just to qualify and if we qualify anything could happen, I know that the newly created A-League will realy take off.

I do hope that Australia wins, they if anyone deserve a place in a World Cup. Must be hard to crush (almost?) every opponent in their group and then not going to the WC because they loose against some South America nation...

It's irritating for us to have easy matches and then hinge our hopes on a playoff against South Americans who have gone through very tough matches, that's why the move to Asia is great for us.

It's very harsh that Australia must play off with Uruguay, and not one of Bahrain or Trinidad. Surely it's in the best interests of FIFA to have the strongest teams available where playoffs are concerned?
Ah well. It'll be good and I'll also be interested in that Trinidad & Tobago / Bahrain game for fun's sake.

It'd also be better to do it based on Geography Australia/Bahrain & Trinidad/Uruguay.
I'll keep a bit of an eye on the Trinidad game - Dwight Yorke plays for Sydney FC and I want to see him injured.

He's just a Manchester Hasbeen!
plays for Sydney now, took a dive and got a Mariners player sent off in the 9th minute last week. Guess I can't really blame him for poor refereeing though.
Oh and as a Leeds United fan - yes, I can wish a Man Utd player to be injured (one day Alan Smith, one day!)

Well, better to be United that bought him than any other team.
Leeds couldn't keep all there players when they left the Premier League. Didn't they loose players like Alan Smith, Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell that summer?

Harry Kewell left the summer before that. (as an aside and back on topic - I don't think he'll start tomorrow)
Smith annoys me because of all the things he said about loving Leeds, it's not that he wasn't entitled to leave to play EPL - but the club he went to eats me.

Well Mark Viduka left to Middlesborough in that summer.

Yea but Boro aren't the enemy Manchester are. It's not that Smith left it's where he went that annoys me.
Only 1 goal to come back from, if Kewell stops playing like Rubbish (he should have been sacked when he chose club before country) and/or Viduka gets good service we'll pressure them.
