Do you have to be the one to score the goal, or does it count if you had a particularly nice assist?

I can't believe you asked this... It's not called Assist of the Month is it? Obviously, you have to be the scorer.

I might run an "Assist Of The Month" competition later down the line, we'll see how this goes for now, but yeah, you have to score the goal. :)

true.. but when you watch a goal of the month of TV, they don't credit the goal to the person who crossed or passed it last :p

Suppose so... I think an Assist of the Month competition would be great, although I realize that would mean about twice the work... I just like assists better, what can I say? :)

You have to be the scorer because we are giving prizes to the winners. It wouldn't be fair to give a prize to someone if the computer player actually puts the ball in the net.

I know what you mean though. Assisting great goals is a great feeling and I know that not everyone plays as a striker. So if the Goal Of The Month competition is a success then i will do the Assist Of The Month too. :)

This can be completely ignored as it may be too much work for poor old Si and anybody else that helps him with this.

Maybe instead of assist - becuase that will lead to people who say "what about if i started the move then another guy put in the assist" - just a plain Computer Goal of the month. There doesn't have to be a prize - but sometimes its actually good to see the computer put the finishing touch to a move that you started with an amazing Gerrard-esque cross field ball.

i like assisting but its not the real talented person who scores the goal, its the computer, so you mustn't enter the goal of the month award with an assist, am i wrong?

Correct, you have to be the scorer. Nothing else to discuss on this topic, though maybe in time Si may choose to create another competition for assists or displays of flair and skill.
