Si,

Would love to see a Club Manager game after all this. Maybe a combo of Euro Cup and NSS2. Obviously the ultimately career goal being a club manager and becoming the manager for the international team as well. :)

Yes, i'm thinking about a club manager game. I need to get my head around database programming first so I can efficiently incorporate real squads. The next project though is NSS3.

I'm not sure how others feel, but I think I'd prefer Mr Read to concentrate on NSS as it's something a bit different.

There's quite a few club manager games out there at the moment and it would be quite hard for him to make a better game himself. (CM, for example, has a researcher for every country plus a researcher for every club. As well as all the people who actually make the game ...)

This is true, Walliver. What i'd like in the future though is to have all the player names in NSS, and then as you approach retirement you can take over as a player manager, before becoming just a manager. This is a long way off at the moment, but hopefully with the help of all the players around the world we could maintain an up to date database. Of course, it could never be as detailed as CM but it would be great to live a legendary career.

That on the other hand, sounds like quite a good idea. How many updates is that away ?

Well if you gonna use real names maybe give those names an age aswell?
If there's one thing (well there were more) that annoyed me with fifa is that you play against the exact teams as you did last year and the 5 years before that... I don't like the idea of a 35 year old still being number scorer or something like that....

Just like give the players an age, and they too retire when old enough.
Oh and other teams should make transfers aswell amongst eachother.
and well maybe show the BIG transfer in an off match event window

(srry too many ideas, better go study)

Please tell me you don't actually play FIFA. It's an abominal football game compared with Pro Evolution. :P

I *used* to...
But now that my bro moved out and took his PS2 with him thats done.
Yeah, I also prefered the gameplay of PES, but than again, fifa had the copyrights and better gfx.
Actually the only SUPERB fifa game I know was fifa 98, that was massive (for its time)!

Oh I heard something about another football game coming up....
I for one like this! Fifa , PES, TIF , more competition => more effort (I assume) => better game

The career mode and off match events of NSS, gameplay of PES, gfx of FIFA, real names....
what the hell are they waiting for??

I used to prefer FIFA97 myself.

98 seemed too arcadey for me. Felt liked 6 steps and you were from one side of the field to the other. Whereas 97 was slower paced and more realistic in my opionion.

The greatest thing about 97 which I think disappeared in 98 and after was the time of day you were playing the game determined the time of the day the match in the game was.

I realized this after a dozen games I played were all at night. (Was playing many night after coming home drunk to college dorms after partying <g>)

Then I realized all the commentators at the start were saying things like, "This is an unbelievable late hour to be playing football." <g>

I liked 98 more than any other FIFA but then again I didn't play 97. '96 was good too, the international one. 99 wasn't bad but I stopped buying them after 2000 sucked

Don't know but yesterday notched my 1000th goal in competition and by the end of the day today had 1139 in 2 seasons with Brentford, who I took to the CL after being transferred to them from Gijon when the Bees had only 3 points to their name off of 14 played, another 'flaw' with NSS, the bad teams are truly awful.

I also prefer to keep aiming at single player career, since there are plenty of good club managers, specially in my opinion the big'n'famous Total Club Manager series...they are expensive, aye, but really complete and hardly beatable.
