Racing bug & v3.03 on download?

Hi Si,

I've just downloaded the trial version and found that the game stops responding when you try to place a bet - as soon as you click the race button.

Also, the download text seemed to indicate that v3.03 was installed, but I thought v3.04 was available. Is this just an out of date text file, or is the download link pointing to the old version? I also followed your v3.04 link within the DUGOUT forum and the same text file appeared.

Has the racing worked for you before? Check the help file (Help > About) to see the actual version you are using. If you don't have 3.04 then download again and re-install.

Oh, and no, NSS has nothing to do with Sensible Soccer other than it sharing a similar appearance.

(BTW - Are you using it the Sensible Soccer engine under license from Sensible Software??)Dunno about the rest of it, but I'm sure the answer is no to that bit, it's his own engine built from scratch I believe.

This is the 1st time I've tried the gambling / racing functionality, so not sure if it has worked before.

V3.03 is installed. This is both from your homepage and from the v3.04 link within the dugout forum. I would download the v3.04 update if I could get it from somewhere. I suspect that you may need to update your download webspace / or the link to the .exe.

Either that or the text for the v.304 update has been left at v3.03 both for the text file at the end of the installation and the version number within the help | about pop up window

OK, I've just clicked on the link from within the dugout forum and it appears to start downloading the 10Mb file (before it looked like it only downloaded a file worth a few kb coz it was well quick).

Si - have you changed something in the last few minutes, or did I imagined that?

Si - the text in the download still says v3.03 - this is both in the installation process, the text file at the end of the install and in the help | about section within the game -

Plus the horse racing functionality still doesnt work.

Oh and since my last post I have created a new game and the horse racing functionality doesn't work in that either - just to check as to whether it has ever worked ie from the start of a game.

Please advise what is next to try.

what is your PC set up, do you have the latest Direct X installed. Im finding this wierd to be honest. As the racing worked fine in 3.03 for myself.

Double checked that DirectX v9.0c is installed, unfortunately I am unable to check any further as I have ran out of cash. I will keep you informed.

BTW - I am still unable to find the v3.04 update as the current download is for v3.03

The Racing problem still exists - it stops responding.

I've had problems with games & the video driver for this PC. Could this be related?

Si - Is there a list of working / non-working video drivers?

Has anyone else come across this problem (game stops responding after clicking on the race button).

Hmm, that's strange if you can play matches the racing should work.

I don't have a driver list but i'll look into the racing bug soon. (Won't be fixed in 3.05 though.)

SI BTW - this problem is on both my laptop and desktop, and both on v 3.03 and v3.04. So it is not just down to the video card on my desktop as I suspected.

Hi Si, just to let you know that the racing bug is fixed in v3.05. You can add that to the functionality changes for v3.05
