View Full Version : Access Violation Bug

I have version 3.03 installed. It keeps crashing with an error message, usually but not exclusively when I try to save.
Don't know how to post a screenshot other than uploading it to a host and linking, and it's quicker just to type it out.
It says (or did last time it did it)
Error: Access violation at 0x7C910F29 (tried to read from 0x00000001), program terminated.
I'll email my save file to Si in case it helps (zipped).
Cheers
Disappearing for the evening now so there's no rush, going to watch my real life team! :)

Just played about 10 matches of your save, hasn't crashed yet. Hopefully it's fixed in the new version which i'll upload tonight.
Was it always pretty soon after that save point? If it crashes after updating to 3.04 then let me know.

It's crashed 3 times. Each time it's let me play another match or two after replaying whatever I was up to before the crash and then gone again. The first time I blamed it on my virus checker (Avast) doing an automatic update and notifying me in the middle of a game - I don't tend to run anything else at the same time but the virus checker and firewall (Zone Alarm Pro) are always on in the background, as is SpywareGuard.
I can turn off the automatic updates while I'm playing if you think that might cause instability, and I guess I could unplug from the network and turn all the other stuff off if necessary, although I'd rather not if I don't have to.
On the two subsequent occasions nothing else was running. There's nothing to note in Event Viewer besides the application hang. Don't know if any of that is of any use in sussing what's going on, I'm no PC expert but if there's any further information that could be useful I'll dig it up if I can.
I'll hang fire until the update's available and see how it goes on after that. :)

Si,
I am randomly crashing. Most of the time I crash on English cup matches.
Access Violation.
I got past one time and saved. Shall see if it happens again.

Is this the save you sent me before? I think that save's been buggered since an earlier version and may not be recoverable. I just cannot find what causes the problem.
If you're talking about a save that you started since 3.03 then let me have it.
