- Translations: I'm sure this will be looked at some time soon!
- iCloud save files: not useful for me, but I'm guessing those with multiple iOS devices want to carry their save files across devices. If there's something similar for Android (I have no idea, I've only ever used an Android tablet once), then it'd also be a good idea
Add horse racing and horses/stables
More interations- do this or do that with effects either way (like helping lady with puncture) etc
The main one- ABILITY TO RUN / TRICKS -
u press run instead of passing and u hav to copy a designshape with ur finger in an amount of time (maybe based on a flair stat) and the tougher the opponent the harder the design/shape to copy. To make it viable for you- extra tricks can b purchased. When u do a trick, it shows a simple graphic of it being performed.

So far I've had a very good time with the ios version of NSS. To be honest i can see myself playing it alot more than the mac/pc version. Another point i'll make, and this is just my opinion, I didn't really dig the arcade style of NSS5 and prefered NSS4 and even the simplicity of NSS3.
Having said that, the ios version was an instant purchase for me because I support Simon and his ideas. And for me, I think the arcade style presentation, along with the 'limited' gameplay works really well on ios.
I'll have some suggestions and things that bug me at a later stage. When my daughter isn't crawling all over me distracting everything I try to do :)

I spent 4-5 hours on the iOS one last night for the iPad and it is great. Just picked up the Android one too for my phone to play on the go.
Early suggestions/thoughts:
- Where is booze?
- Player receiving passes ALWAYS come towards you...but sometimes, when you have to lob the ball over the top, it is more likely to be away from you, but they will miss the ball because they are coming towards you even if the ball lands 1 player space ahead of them. Will be better if you improve AI's ability to judge where the ball is going and to go receive the pass.
- I stopped played NSS on desktop so I might have remembered wrong but shouldn't we get some kind of rating credit for hitting the post? Right now, it seems like it is all or nothing. You either get a goal or you fail, you either hit a pass or you fail. I agree on the pass side, but for some semi goal scoring opportunities (i.e. over 30 yards out), give some player credit for forcing a rebound or something. It is a bit too punitive right now. I mean I had one game where I had a goal and a few passes but got a sub 5 rating because I got my shots saved twice. =\
- Rebounds/corners?
- Player position - I know this is not the full NSS game but would be nice to be able to choose positions. You can tailor the types of actions (i.e. defenders have to intercept more, maybe get in position to head a ball away or make a tackle, CM will have the chances we see now...bit of everything, Wingers will get more crossing opportunities and maybe corners, and of course strikers will have the ball with sight of goal.)
Very addictive game though!

Played few more hours, this time on Android.
1. Seriously need to fix that crashing problem.
2. There has got to be a way to dump your gf, and/or choose when I want a gf, not force one onto me. I am stuck in a tough spot because my gf pissed off both my boss and my team mates. I am stuck as sub...
3. Which leads to this point...the rating system needs to be adjusted for subs. I play only 30 min, I get a goal on 2 chances and my rating is sub 5? That makes no sense. Or if I have 4/4 passing, I get 6 rating.... It does not even give me a chance to get a high rating unless I score 2+ goals.
Dinner time, then back to playing on iOS...
Good point about rebounds and corners! Some credit for hitting the post and the goalie saving would b nice. And getting a corner opp wen the goalie saves and it goes out? Maybe corners are being developed.
If tackling and crossing is implemented then yeh Choice of position would b kl. but think how u wold implement a takling system that wont b easy or like the interceptions... Tricky one.
**remembered- the point about a lobbed 'through' ball and the player running towards u when if he went the other way 1 or 2 steps it wudda been perfect!! Plzzzz fix this AI, would make the passing system a lot more interesting and make me want to attempt more 'killer' balls.
To add- can u make it so balls to a certain area produce more shot opportunities for ur team? Ie- if i play a killer ball thru the team and my player looks like he could easily turn and b in on goal- i should hav a shot opportunity, "player breaks free from great thru ball from 'created player' " then a goalie save or score scenario like usual. Just thinking that could add to assists as well and slightly better stat ratings for those passes coz they are 'better' for the team.
And i would really like to c betting of some sort, maybe on other leagues that u arent playing in?
Atm- waiting for the apple update then back on it! Im sure i'll hav a few more suggestions soon.
iCloud interaction plz- i would like to play between my 4S an iPad2

Agreed.. the rating system needs some serious tweaking as it's just too hard to get enough opportunities early in the game to generate positive momentum in your relationships, what with having to play with minimum effort all the time or when coming on as a sub.

GF => I want to dump her !!! :D
Interception game :
- Something nobody can get the ball ^^ => Draw ?
- Virtual stick instead of finger ? (because the "intercept zone" is smaller than my finger, so I can't see if my player is correctly placed).
Options :
Difficulty lvl ?
Wind : with / without ?
I get a contract for the leader of L2 (France)... And since I arrived in the club, we loose almost all matches... (4th star rating). I guess there is a pb of balance.
Minigame of dribling ? => reach a point and pass the ball ?
Sponsors :
Boots => Free boots ?? (like NSS 5)... Not all boots, but for example based on star rating ? (1 star => basics boots at 3 stars, 2 stars => Boots at 5 stars, and so on).
Drink => Free drink ?

I agree with alot of the comments so far. I've played one season and have yet to encounter some of the issues people have mentioned. So far my key suggestions (and questions) are as follows:
1. Game rating needs to be more forgiving. Miss one 'chance' and it's basically over with the rating. You'll sit at 5 or below.
2. Teams tend to start losing as soon as your player arrives, like they are a cancer or something.
3. Difficulty setting - I would love this since I tend to be more of a casual gamer and I think the drills will get way too hard for me and I get quite frustrated with missing some passes by mere centimetres.
4. The ability to set direction of passes or movement of player without having to put your finger on the ball or the player. My fat finger tends to block the player or the ball trajectory and make it difficult to see whats going on.
Questions:
1. What do the ratings do and affect? Can somebody give a run down of what each attribute does?
2. What are the benefits of getting 'lifestyle' stuff? Properties say they help you recover energy but are there any other 'permanent' type boosts that you can gain?
One final note that is just my opinion, are IAP essential? They don't seem to be and you should be able to get by without purchasing any except of the extra game modes, but I personally don't like them and whilst I understand the business side of having them there, but are they needed?

Right. I've played a little bit and so far I like. I have these comments:
1. I miss some half time pause. It can either be a look on stats or something.
2. No boost of energy at half time?
3. Even though the game play doesn't continue on itself when doing nothing, I really miss a Pause button during match play - perhaps merged with the speed? Pause - Slow - Medium - Fast ? It makes me safe

Along with Bubka I suggest a pause button, energy refills at half time and I would like to see some team stats at the end of the match, just because I'm that kind of guy

First of all. Great first Mobile App. Keep them coming!
Here a few suggestions:
- Positions: it came up before and it is really necessary because you want to know where to play. I see that you need one or the other minigame more to make the positions more different. But for the beginning a defender would have to intercept more, midfielder needs to pass more, striker well.. striking goals.
- Team Strength/Level: Like the players Star Level there should be Star Levels for every team: 1. Average Teamlevel 2. One for Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, Strikers
This shoud become useful if you plan your career and start out at a TeamAverage Level 1 and make your way up to a top team. Also you can use it if the playerlevel is lower than the average level of the position he wants to play he wouldn't be picked that easy and would be a substitute.
- Corner - Header: Getting a corner and be able to kick it if you are got a good freekick-level. Otherwise be in the box and try to head it. Sort of a timing minigame to jump at the right moment.
Also get the change for some headers during the game. you could use a similar minigame then the corner.
This could also be very exciting in the defense. try to get to the ball or the other team is going to take a header to the goal.
- give and go: it should be possible to set the pass and run in one direction. maybe the same thing like the interception move or the possibility to tell the player after the pass where to go. If your teammates like you it is more likely to get the ball again and get to a chance.
well that were my first thoughts about the game.

For me, the key addition must be nationality and international play. The game feels so empty without the excitement of hoping to be picked for the national team that first time. That and the sponsor happiness level needs to be tied to game performance in some way or tweaked a bit? The fact that it just goes down is extremely cumbersome towards the middle of the game. I guess I'm missing a lot of things from the PC version of the game.. Contract expiration should be added and management of your contract here is far too simplistic... Great start though!
Yes, I'll agree with the suggestions for international callups, continental competitions (at least the Europa League and Champions League), and the corner kick scenarios. Those sound like lots of fun and require some precision to place the ball there!
Also, for Portugal at least (but I imagine in other countries as well), there's an extra competition that could be implemented, which is the Super Cup: the winner of the previous cup tournament vs the winner of the league. If they are the same, then it's the winner of the league vs the defeated cup finalist.
Overall, great work!

Been playing the game a lot. Bought it a few days ago and nearing the end of my second season.
One thing that has bugged me A LOT.
In January, I got a transfer into a national conference team. It was in first position by about 5 points or so. However, my transfer jinxed the damn team. This team is awful! I've started taking long distance shots because I make them more often than my team mates scoring a goal after receiving a pass in front of goal. What's up with that?
We've dropped to 5 place now... My previous team was in a lower league and my assist ratio was higher. I mean, they actually had shots on target!
Still...
I would like to have sort of team rating that one can see.
It could happen in real life. I've upset the chemistry of the team.
JEGAN

My suggestions are:
1. Teammates receiving lob pass should have move towards the "x" instead of moving forward.
2. Player also should receive some credits for hitting the post or shooting from over 30yards and cleared by the GK or hit the post.
3. Many times my shot was saved by the GK and should have been awarded a corner. Corners should be made the same as free kicks if we are the corner takers.
4. Need the concept of player positions.
5. Minor additions would be to show teammates/opponents/goal on the "ball screen" that gives a feel / showing that we are shooting to that area.
6. I really hate the sponsors and gf requiring us to spend time with them but eats almost 40% of our energy. while our star rating goes up, the NRG drink also cost more. This is stupid. My player salary is *25 but the NRG drink now cost *42...
7. Where is the international game like world cup and regional game like UCL? (This means we need the nationality concept as the NSS5)
8. Should put more graphics into the game, such as a picture of a team winning the league or FA cup or even World Cup (once available).
9. Same with the point no.8, a celebration picture after scoring a goal / teammate score after receiving our assist or losing the game, or being subs, or coming in from subs, or injured, or training, or being praised by the boss or scolded by the boss, or receiving bribes... that would be fun (more RPG like).
10. The Intercept game is a bit hard, players should only move after I touched my player first otherwise I dont have time to react. And opponents should breakdown their attack if the pass didn't meet their teammates. As of now, the only way to break the opponents attack is to intercept, otherwise they will still have to chance to score even though their pass actually failed. Moreover, I can't see where my opponents calling the ball because my finger is covering them and I can't see the "x" if it is located under my finger.
11. The chances for each game is too low. For a new player joining the team, probably only 3-4 chances. After increasing relationship with teammates to max, then you can get more chances like 7-8. But as you know, the higher league is harder to pass and score because the goal keeper also get faster and better. So we need more chances in the higher league.
12. Need more variations on match comment, after playing for 3 season, it gets really boring to see the same comments over and over again.
13. Relationships Picture Matching Game, the backside of the picture should be fully colored like in NSS5, otherwise my eyes couldn't catch the randomization.
14. The escalation price of NRG is too high, need to tweak it down to *1 per star rating and have a max / cap e.g. until star rating level 10 only. Otherwise it is ridiculous.
15. A chance to celebrate the goals with teammates, boss, or fans (you know what I'm talking about...).
16. A balance bar of offense and defense (like Football Manager), this way I can decide when I need to work extra or work relax. or even better if you can provide flexibility for the player to move outside their position like helping the defence, helping the midfield, or staying in attack position depending on your playing position.
I really like this game :)

Oh btw, the post-match comments should also say something like, if my player score a winning goal that gives a win or an equalizer goal that rescue the team, should be commented in the newspaper and get a better rating with the fans.

I reported a touch response issue in the interception game in the bug report thread but in general I am finding the interception game exceedingly difficult and this issue really doesn't help matters haha!
I would like to a slide tackle implemented for that minigame which would help, I would even welcome the AI passing to be much faster if that was the case to make it a challenge. That would be a nice new minigame for matches as well, tackle a player in a dangerous position and if he gets through it has a high percentage for the opposing team to score or if you mistime the tackle you give away a penalty. General tackling challenges at random would be interesting as well.
All in all though it is a really enjoyable game though the boss/team/fans are brutal once you get up to level 4 in English L1 and then Championship. I am struggling to move off the 0% mark of 4 star rating now. I am surprised a team bothered to hire me in the Championship after how poor I was doing in L1.
The Happiness/ratings are very difficult to keep at a high level, I would like to see them a bit closer to their implementation in NSS5.
I think there is a bit too much reliance in NRG drinks in the mobile version as well. I liked how in the PC version they really are an optional thing to give you a bit more energy during a game and I only use them every 3-4 matches, but in the mobile version they are essential for training and I find myself spamming them every break between matches for various skills and lifestyle games. Perhaps lessen the energy impact for lifestyle games especially and somewhat for skills so that you could still do one or two and have enough to scrape through a match with 2 hearts effort and maybe some 1 heart effort.

I've played the game a lot and I must say I agree a lot with that is already written.
A few key point issues:
1. It seems impossible to keep the sponsor happy unless I play the stupid mini game every week. Is there nothing else that makes them happy? I've been MoM more than 10 times this season for Barcalona. My sponsors should be thrilled to have me as a representative.
2. Why does a team suddenly have to suck just because I'm transferred to it? Whether it is before or mid-season my new team refuses to play well. And your new team relationship is just too low. Even if you work hard all match you may only get 3/4 mediocre chances in the game. When I transfered to Barcalona they suddenly sucked big times. Even if I played really well and scored a couple of goals and made an assist the team would loose. After ten matches we were placed 18th? 18th O_O And I didn't have the feeling that it was my fault the team was loosing. I was responsible for more than 90 % of the teams goals but the team would concede a bunch of goals.
3. Maybe a bug. When playing for Newcastle and leading the PL I was offered a contract from some Nth Conf team midseason. While at Barca I was offered a contract from some team form the 3rd division. It is insulting towards a superstar like me :P
4. Is it possible for my team to not concede goals? My teams have probably kept the opponent from scoring a few times, but it seems like no matter how well I'm playing the opponents will always score. Ultimately it leaves me with a feeling that I have no influence on the end result.
5. The price increase on NRG drins is ridiculously. I understand why it is done but the NRG drinks are more expensive than what I earn each week. When NRG is such an important part of this game they should at lest be slightly cheaper. (So far the solution is to stock a lot of NRG drinks while they are cheap but it wont hold for long)
6. The game needs international tournaments. It is a bit too boring as it is right now. I need some additional goals to reach.
7. Could we get multiple save games? Let me have more than one career running please.
my two cents for now.
JEGAN

Actually, transferring to a new club and having a lower relationship with teammate and resulting that we didn't get much chances is a correct concept. It's not just our individual skill that determine the result, but people skill are also needed to make ourselves click with our teammates. That's why I immediately build my relationship with my teammates as soon as I moved to a new club. But I also agree that, without my player, the high caliber team shouldn't suck too much after we move in. At least they should be par with upper table clubs. From what I experienced, when our team is on the top table, we concede less goals and we played better.

Aaah I didn't get that :)
Id really like to c the stats broken down into the teams i played for, in what yr, and individual stats based on that.
Especially for comparison careers- if u stay in the lower league bangin in goals then transfer to a top club 15 yrs in- ur stats will look pretty amazin- yet wen u put it into perspective u can ascertain actually how well sum1 has dun.
Also it is a little annoyin just havin a career stat an not seeing ur progress over the yrs, or what league u did best in, or who u helped get promotion etc.

Just a couple of things that have popped into my head recently:
- Career summary page: it'd be great to know my record at the clubs and when I played for them (just noticed Tza already said that...)
- Dribbling: Would be cool to open up space for passes and shots
- Runs: Passing the ball into space would be great. Can do this ever so slightly at the moment, but not really

Great game!
My main gripe when playing career mode is that I have no influence over some games and whilst it is realistic it does not work as a game. For example, I just played Man Utd v Arsenal and it was 60th minute before I had anything to do, during that 60 mins Arsenal had maybe 7 attempts. For the game to give me more control over success I should really be getting an intercept chance for all or most of those 7 attempts (or tackle chance see point 4 below).
I accept that some games will see me mainly defending but if I have a chance to grind out a 0-0 or snatch a late victory I need to have some control over goals conceded surely?
I agree with many comments people have made, here is my other list of 'wants':
1. International call ups and big tournaments
2. We should meet and choose girlfriends not get one automatically. We should be able to be single also (have minor pros and cons to having a GF). Give us a pic of the girl, a description of personality and occupation for example.
3. Make some teams way better than others, I play for Man Utd and it seems just as hard to beat a lower league team as a top 3 Premier league team.
4. Add corners, trying to defend a goal scoring opportunity for the opponent, a chance to get on the end of a cross
5. Maybe add heading and volley ability for point 4
6. Add tackling ability for point 4

A-League Finals like in NSS5 possible? Also A-League update needed for kit updates and to include West Sydney over Gold Coast United.
Update was decent! Won my 1st league and the top teams in EPL are actually now fighting it out! But team strength should b tweaked more, as like most others hav commented, it still seems like no matter who i play the difficulty is the same.
Pleeeeeaaaaaase add a feature that helps us control goals conceeded. Because when im 2-0 up against a 19th position Bolton and they get 4 goals in the last 15 mins- a few things are very wrong!

Nine points clear with three games remaining, my side promptly lost all three and only won on goal difference... and I didn't get much chance to influence any of those games, despite being on the 3 hearts as much as I could. Would be nice to see more scoring chances when I'm having a particularly good game, even if the team is struggling - I got a 9.3 and scored one goal from one shot in a 4-1 loss, for example.
It'd be good if assists could earn contract bonuses, as they don't *seem* to affect match ratings more than other passes.
Someone noted the difficulty of the interception game, and I'll second that. I've given up on the training for pace, too, as it's so hard to get the higher levels.
Do the lifestyle options have a bigger impact depending on cost? I've not noticed it despite buying the more expensive houses, etc. That should be the case if not, as otherwise there's no real achievement to saving the 1000* for the private island.

I have been playing the game for a few seasons now. I'm now 29 and achieved all stars purchased all items and I have over 8000 in the bank. I love the concept and find it very addictive. Here are a few bugs I've found:
-The only transfer offers I receive mid-season are from the team at the bottom of the lowest division, which makes no sense? It would be nice for the other big clubs to bid for you.
-The sponsorships I received early in the game are still 1 should they not get renewed for more?
-stats do not decrease as I get older should this happen?
And here are a few things I would like to see added:
-International competitions? Maybe at the end of every other season there could be world cup or European cup.
-European competitions? Again it would be nice to see Eufa Cup and Champs League added
-More interaction with friends and family? Instead of pictures and choosing between your boss and mates it would be good to add a scenario like nss4 "your boss wants you to stay and train but you had arranged to meet your mates"
-injuries? Maybe I've had a lucky career but I've never missed a game through injury not even a pulled hamstring!
-Player History? A list of teams and stats from all previous clubs you have played for. Rather than current season and all time stats.
Hope the above can be added!! It would make it the best game ever!!

Was going to add to the "want" of international call ups and euro club comps but seems all in hand - good job!
Other things:
Would be great to add corners to the game. Possibly both taking corners but also being on the end of them. Maybe position your player and draw out a run - if the ball comes to you then you get a chance to shoot.
Not sure why sponsors are down on me. Seems they're not happy even when I'm getting MoM and scoring goals. I think this needs tweeking.
I'm currently 2nd in the league with Liverpool and approx. scoring 1 goal per game. How come Liverpool keep accepting an offer from a Non-league club for me?
It's the same club and it's happened several times. Surely a non-league couldn't afford me!
Hi Dockery,
What version of the game are you playing? I'm pretty sure that sponsors are reacting to MoM awards positively since the last update. I also suffer from the lower clubs harassing me - I guess they want us to save them and take them to the bigger leagues :)
The Jan transfer thing as mentioned is getting a bit annoying now- i would like a selection of clubs i can join, not just the lowest club in the country im playing in!
Also- a few more features- like corners, or tackling, or dribbling.
And my team mates are shocking in front of goal- since the update it has been better- but still- a wide open side of the goal to aim at but no- kicks to keeper!
Well, that does sometimes happen... I would imagine that if the forwards were even better, that then the game would become a bit more unbalanced. I'd imagine that the accuracy rate is currently between 20% and 33% (ballpark figures) for my team mates.
I think there's also something of an "art" to lob the ball to a place where your team mates have to move to, in order to shoot from a better place in relation to the goal. It might be totally the "placebo" effect, but especially when there are defenders around, or when it's near the goal and one of the sides seems to be more open, I tend to place the ball in a slow, high lob in a place where the forward moves in order to be facing that open area or to move away from the defenders.
Chopper
04-18-2012, 03:42 PM
I also find that depending on where I pass it depends on whether they score, but I like it! If I pass to their feet they often shoot at the keeper. If I lob it over a defenders head and they move for the ball it often results in a goal.
I can't wait for the international version it will make the game much more enjoyable! I'm looking forward to starting a new career.
Great job Si

Oh, my! Weren't you able to backup and restore on iTunes? :l
I'm actually thinking of restarting my career when the new update comes out, the game is enjoyable the same. :) I'm curious - which club do you start in your first season, Cookie? Do you try to make it until you reach Benfica and then go for the international career? Or do you start international, and then want to end your career at Benfica?
I started with Moreirense, which I took to the 1st Division, then Guimarães picked me up, we ended in the top 5, and in the middle of the next season Porto picked me up... I didn't really have a preference for Porto, but since my Sporting didn't care for me at the time, I made my name in Porto for 2 seasons, winning the cup and league before I went to Sporting ;)
I now have been a globetrotter since then, since I was kind of bored of winning the PT league, but with the prospect of international call-ups and the UEFA competitions, I might just go back to Sporting and finish my career there before restarting :)
What was your previous career story?

I think I have successfully implemented international tournaments. Full qualifying campaigns, World Cup, Euros, Africa Cup of Nations, Copa America.
I need to test it over the weekend but version 1.1 should be available on Android and Flash soon and hopefully by next Friday on iOS.
Love all the NSS games, although don't really get the time to commit to them these days. That is why I love the mobile version. In my current game I started out in the lower Scottish leagues with Stirling and Falkirk before moving to Rangers and on to my current team Leicester. Very excited to hear about the update with international and European competitions. Look forward to it being released. Cheers Si!

Missed your post! I had to restore from scratch because my iPod was jailbroken, so no backups. I started in Covilhã, and then built my way up. Went to Estoril and eventually Porto, so I could try and play abroad. I succeeded and went to Hearts where I failed and then I ended up returning to Portugal, to Beira-Mar. After that I finally got a bid from Benfica, and I didn't even think twice :P Unfortunately I got off to a bad start and then it was very hard to improve my relationships. I went to Sporting where I was the most successful -- I won two cups and got a 2nd place finish (lost the league in the final matchday), all this in 15 seasons. Then my iPod went for repair :( I started in the Conference now, trying to do something different!
Also, good luck for Thursday. I'm hoping Sporting get to the final!
Oh, great career story :) Too bad you lost all your progress though. I'm sure you'll be able to work out something like a Rui Costa career this time around, playing as a young talent in Benfica and then going back to finish you career there as well!
I've been to Spain, England. Italy, Germany, US, Brazil, Japan and now Argentina - but I'm hoping to finish my career in Portugal.
Thanks for the wishes, it's going to be hard, but let's hope for the best!
Cheers,
Paulo

loving the app. showed it to a few friends. 5 of them have it too. two became die-hards :p
anyway we discussed it yesterday and came up with the following suggestions for either NNS Mobile 2 or an update: (I don't know if any of these have been mentioned before)
- Multiple saves.
- International-games (World-cup etc)
- Champions League (Maybe Euro-League too)
- more events (ala NSS3), more stuff to buy.
- An screen where you can see your former career by club (not all together)

GReat effort with the Android version; Looking at all the different versions of NSS5 (iOS, Android, Flash, HTML5) I wonder where you physically get the time to do all that, Simon!
Coming to us...any chance to overhaul the control system? I played the Flash version a bit before buying NSS5 for my Android phone; Worked brilliantly with the mouse but I discovered that my finger essentially hides the action, especially when trying to intercept the ball :)
H3llR4iser, you can control the player by just clicking on the edge of the screen towards which you want the player to move to. I just hold the phone with the two thumbs in the screen, and click left/right as I want him to move.

But there seems to be a bug, the 3:2 in the second screenshot wasn't in - it just hits the bar, :snooty: without this bug England can't be able to beat Germany :P. Please make the game a little more realistic (think this is why it isn't released yet)

Not going to read through all the other suggestions, all mine may well have been posted but incase they havent.
Corners or at least my teams possession when the keeper saves and the ball goes out for a "corner"
Statistics for penalties taken and scored
When the shot hits the post or crossbar the players try for the rebound, if the keeper saves it no one tries for the rebound so try sort this please
Instead of passing or shooting try a flair where you could maybe do 6 footballs laid out like 3 x 3 or make it harder 4 x 4
all will be greyed out for example and then 3 or 4 of them light up one after the other
I as the player then has to remember that sequence for the flair to be successful
This could then lead to possession closer to the goal??

Amazing game. I also have a couple of suggestions:
- Ability to edit team names and kits: this is probably a bit harder than the others, but it's still interesting to have
- a history page: I'm at 30 years old in the game and I can't even remember the teams where I've played at, cause i played half of this career after the game came out, and the other half now, after the patch.
Some stats on that page would be nice as well: games, goals, avg. rating, league, position. Also a page with the trophies won, like a Trophy room
- upgrades to the first sponsorship contracts, after you fill all sponsorship slots, or the ability to cancel them
- a general fixtures page, for the player, not the currently selected club(including international matches)
Cheers!

I love the version at http://www.kongregate.com/games/siread/new-star-soccer but was wondering if you'd ever consider making an offline version so I can play it on my laptop wherever I go? 1) Make it easier for new users to register to this site (were not opening a bank account!!!)
2) if my player scores both goals in a game, it's unrealistic that he would be dropped for next game.
3) set levels- easy med hard
4) I've played 4 seasons and can't get a better team than conf. How long do u have to play to be on premiership?
5) option of selling stuff (if I own a sports car I don't need smart car)
6) players never seem to get injured. Strange

Just dropped by to say that I love NSS Mobile! I haven't bought career mode yet, but I definitely will be the next time I get an iTunes voucher :P
As for improvements, the only thing I can suggest is with the interface, when you slide your finger up to scroll through lists such as selecting what country you want to start in, that could be improved, but other than that small detail, there really isn't much to suggest!
Great work Si :)

In my mind it should be a lot harder to advance your stats, and also it shouldn't be possible to just pick any club you want. Let's not forget you're a commodity to clubs, so the other club will have to pay for you.
So I'd suggest the following:
+ Add financial strength stats to clubs (perhaps even a sugar daddy trait for PSG and Man City for example)
+ Add team strength stats to clubs (so you know how fast your team mates are going to be, how much chance you have of winning the league, it's easy to guess the strength of big teams, but there should be some stat)
+ Add contract duration (fun and all to renegotiate your contract but it also means that the longer your contract is, the harder it will be to get a transfer since you're committing yourself to a club)
+ Negative skill points accumulating when you pass 30 (aging)
It would also be nice if you could acquire certain traits that have an effect on your career. For example, I'm fairly selfish when it comes to chances, of course this has an effect on your teams core but it's not really that noticeable. Also, giving a team mate your car/scooter whatever will easily fix that.
Suppose you have a few traits:
+ Egoistic/selfish (ratio of goals to assists/passes > x) --> good relationship with sponsors, bonus to sponsor income, fewer chances during the game
+ Unselfish - passing master (ratio goals to assists/passes < x) --> good relationship with team mates, more chances during the game
+ Family man (Girlfriend relationship > x) --> chance of having a kid you can name and later start a new career with (continuity)
+ Negligent husband (Girlfriend relationship < x) --> chance of the special Terry-Bridge event
+ Gambling loser (Gambling losses > percentage of life income) --> forced approaches to fix games, must intentionally play bad or risk losing almost everything
+ Gambling winner (Gambling wins > percentage of life income) --> lucky charm, events fall your way more often, fewer repairs, negotiating contracts easier
+ Flashy (owns "flashy" version of gadgets, divide those luxury items into categories to choose from)
etc.
etc.
Ultimately you could even have these traits separated by season/career. Your career stats will dictate what kind of person you are in general and what teams might approach you. Season stats will determine events during the season.
Suppose you're a selfish, flashy player Real Madrid might approach you, whereas if you're unselfish and a family man Barcelona might want you.

I'd like to see injuries added to make it more lifelike, Especially when your running on empty.
The ability to do a dribble has been suggested and i'd love to see how that would be implemented in some form of mini game.
Being forced out of your club, Told your no longer needed or being sold to raise funds.
The horse racing mini game added to the casino would be nice.
Testemonials or some kind of acknowledgement for being a legend at your club.
The game is amazing the way it is though, Awesome job SI

I've played NSS on and off for years now, and in the last few months reacquainted myself with it on iOS.
Overall, great stuff - what an addictive and rewarding game. So many brilliant touches.
Here are my main suggestions/gripes, focusing on the iOS version:
Interceptions: the single most annoying aspect of the game on touchscreen is the difficulty in seeing exactly where you're moving the player for interceptions - it's obscured by your finger. Please please can we have something where the player is guided by relative finger movement, not movement towards the point where you touch? i.e. if you touch a couple of centimetres below the player, the player does not run toward the touch point; the player only moves to match the motion of your finger drag. Similar to the way that the Clone tool in Photoshop works... that way you could clearly see the player, and where you're telling the player to run to.
Fans can't see beyond one game: so many times I've seen fans give a negative score for a draw/loss on the second leg of a knockout even though our team wins on aggregate. Shouldn't they be a bit smarter?
Sponsorships don't keep up: Sponsors keep on costing energy (and cost increasing amounts of money in the form of NRG drink) as your player rating increases, but the amount you earn from sponsorships doesn't increase: there's just the fixed-price sponsor slots to fill. This seems a bit askew: shouldn't sponsor deal values increase as your rating goes up? Perhaps sponsor deals could have a duration - e.g. one season - and they are then re-negotiated to suit player value/rating. Going further, perhaps at the end of a season you could see bids in each sponsor category: you choose which sponsor to sign up to... and perhaps some particular kinds of sponsor offer more money but have a negative effect on fans (perhaps like a cheap and nasty online casino or something else which could damage the player's reputation).
Ratings sometimes overly harsh: there seem to be plenty of cases where the player is judged too harshly for, for instance, having a couple of instances where you choose to shoot rather than pass, and hit the woodwork or miss, even though the shoot option was clearly the better chance.
Player prize money: There's absolutely no advantage for a player in winning a big competition right now other than getting an achievement. Shouldn't there be some special cash bonuses for e.g. league win, continental win... ?
Things to do at higher levels: Once you get up to high rating levels the game starts to get a bit humdrum, once you've won everything you can win and have bought everything you can buy. Some drama needed here; maybe more and more risk of scandal, or injuries, or at least more things to buy...?
And... looking at the bigger picture for options in terms of long term development of the game:
Moving action: Right now the on-field play in NSS (with the exception of interceptions) is pretty much static: you have as much time as you like before your kick to consider what to do (and this is a great aspect of the game), and each moment is basically a kick from a stationary position with most other players on the field stationary unless the ball is coming directly to them: almost set-piece puzzles or snooker. I really think this game is great as it is, and worth keeping into the future. But what about another mode of play, as an option, where each piece of on-field play is dynamic: where you perhaps still start with no time pressure while you study the positions, but then you hit "go" and the action starts on the field with realistic movement: all players move, and your player can move (dribbling), except for free kicks/corners, with you tracing your finger on the screen to guide where your player runs (preferably using the clone-tool offset suggestion above re interceptions to avoid the obscuration problem); and you run the risk of being tackled. You then tap to kick, and the current interface starts, where you pull to set kick direction/strength, and then go to the ball-kick screen. This would make for much more complex interaction between players (and, I realise, considerably trickier AI) and a much richer (and more difficult) on-field play experience without losing the essence of the current game.

Just a bit more, following on from previous post...
Embarrassingly I'd never seen NSS5 until after writing this, and the "Moving action" suggestion I had above includes elements of what NSS5 already has.
A couple more things re the iOS version (1.17 right now):
International relations: I'd really like to be able to see my relationship level with the international coach/team/fans at any time, not just briefly after an international match. Unless I'm missing something there seems to be no way to see that on the status screens etc. Likewise I'd like the option to spend energy on the international coach/team/fans to improve the relationship.
Matching game: I understand the idea behind the matching game - to have a skill/luck element in improving relationships, not just simple expenditure of energy - but the game itself is pretty irritating, after a while: it's always the same, and it's kind of off-theme. What about ditching it and either replacing it with a simple quick luck-based result (sometimes you fail to impress your teammates...) or introduce some other factor to add the extra interest/complexity. Like, for instance...
Stress: Here's a thought - add "stress" as a basic player factor, along with the existing "energy" and "happiness". Your stress might go up when, say, having to spend a lot of time with fans, or sponsors, or when you have a series of low ratings, or spend a lot of time on the road, and gets relieved by perhaps spending time with girlfriend, or potentially destructive things like drinking/gambling, which then in turn create the chance of a scandal and negative fan/boss relationship impact. I was thinking that perhaps if you have low stress, then spending energy on boss/team/fan/gf/sponsor relationships is near-guaranteed success, but high stress brings with it a risk of blowing your top and having a negative effect on the relationship.

Make it harder to secure deals at top clubs and give an option to retire from internationals. Those games get very tedious.
I'd also like to see a dribbling mini game incorporated. Shooting should be more challenging and clear cut chances rarer. How often does a player score over 60 goals a season really but I am doing that regularly. I also transferred from a 1st to a 2nd division team on the back of winning many trophies and achieving many personal accolades yet the fans hate me. In reality there would be mass hype and I'd be loved instantaneously. It would be the players, if anyone, that would be slow to warm to me.
I like the added trophy screen but still feels that it needs a tweak. Why is the league position added after international tournaments? For instance, it will say
Year 6: Eng Div One 1st place
Year 6: World Cup
Year 6: Eng FA Cup
Year 6: Eng League Cup
For example. This seams a bit odd and cluttered. I'd also like to see some form of colour coding on this screen to make your achievements with different teams stand out. I'd also like to see play offs added to this screen and insignificant league positions removed. Perhaps have a screen dedicated primarily to your league finished year-on-year.

Since the last update the kits have been a lot better in the main leagues but there are still some anomalies. Sporting and Porto in Portugal have one colour kits which is disappointing. Coudl some form of kit editor be included or would that be too much memory usage for the app?

I've been playing some more with the NSSM and I have these comments:
1. There are some short names that I could do without. A splash screen after loosing/winning a cup final, gives this info: XX won the FA Cup Fnl.. I can understand club, competition and league names are shortened, but final? Naaah :)
2. When training my horse, it would be nice to see what each star costs. It is annoying getting 'not enough cash'.
3. An idea for the match. When there is a cross, perhaps the player could get the chance to head the ball towards the goal? Same scenario/screen as when shooting.
4. The stats screen with the former team view, is only showing the last 2 teams. I would like to have it display all teams.

Fantastic game. But I've a few suggestions
1. The ability to 'Retire' a player and start a new one (still keeping career stats so you can look over it if you wish)
2. After age 25 or 30 perhaps, your stats start to decrease at an increasing pace each season, which will make it harder to play top flight games towards the end of your career (around 37-40) So you either have to retire or start playing for smaller clubs if you want to continue. This might require a club to have the ability to sell you or fire you or perhaps lend you out to a club. This would force people to either retire or start moving down the leagues again. Basically it should be close to impossible for a player to play if they are over 40 odd.
3. More ways to spend money. I'm 34 at the moment and have nothing to spend cash on besides NRG drinks and gambling. I've bought horses and raced them etc. Needs more stuff I think.
4. Perhaps make it a little harder to get into a Premiership club. Perhaps you need to get into a ENG L1, L2 or ENG CHAM club and finish within the top 2 or 3 before a premiership club will take interest.

Brilliant game, Si, almost every change has been for the better, and I've been addicted since the Flash version. Now bought it on my Galaxy S3, and trying to become a Chelsea legend.
My only suggestions would be to remove the randomized matching game, and the post-match interview game. They just aren't fun, and don't add anything to the gameplay experience.
Secondly, I don't understand why the ball bounces off my players sometimes, or why the game punishes me for their inability to trap a bag of cement. For the most part the ratings feel like I earned them (good or bad) but then you have those games where you get two chances, ball bounces off your striker for no discernible reason, and you get taken off for having a shocker.

I disagree with your first point -- those two mini games are the best way of earning relationship boosts or doing post match interviews :)
About the second point, the ball is bouncing off players because you're dragging the arrow all the way down. This causes the ball to be struck with as much strength as your player can, so it will bounce off other players when they get your pass. If you struck a ball as strongly as you could and aimed at a friend of yours, I'm sure he'd also have some difficulty correctly receiving the pass!
Few suggestions:
- Fix the way your teammates evaluate your game.
Last game I made 6 goals and my teammates think I did a bad job (-1). That's just insane. In real life they would think I'm god.
- Add Champions league, Europa cup and national cup to statistics.
It would be really nice to see how you did in cups on previous years
- Fix the bugs that has been reported
Or at least tell us why they can't be fixed.
Especially I'm talking about this white pics -problem that I posted on april (a friggin six months ago):

That is not true - it's not about power, it's about height. If the ball bounces high, players aren't able to control them, which is incredibly annoying. I think this has to do with the headers feature that was supposed to be introduced in a patch, but as it stands now it is completely broken.

Excellent work on the game! Has me up for hours
here are my suggestions:
Moving members of the team- during the passing segments, perhaps making decisive runs from the aim in the final moments of the game, mixes it up from the stagnant players, also makes it feel like a mistake could turn out to be a stroke of genius. (i do understand that freezing everything does imply that you are in the moment, so when you make the move, time continues again)
Injuries (from off the ball challenges)
it is slightly annoying how i can play every season injury free. perhaps the times i go out slightly tired should be costly.
Automatic training
Over time, surely my player should get better if he is playing game in, game out, scoring goals and making passes should spell development.
Having a manager (for transfers or finding sponsors)
This would allow transfers to be more difficult as having a billion opportunities by being 4 stars would mean that some of the poorer clubs wouldnt be able to afford you!
Email feature
Surely as a youngster your family would be worried about you so messages home could boost moral support temporally. messages from old clubs perhaps asking you to join them, or even from friends from old clubs who have been transferred asking you to join that particular club
Tackle minigame
i really enjoy the whole interception one, but as others have pointed out, positioning is everything. at the moment i assume i am a central midfielder, considering where the majority of the
assists/goals rewards
a league table to show what peoples goal tallies are- winning a golden boot is a big thing in my opinion, plus making all those assists should be rewarded too. maybe even making the most passes in the season also. Make it even more competitive.
i know what i ask is alot, but to be honest, the game is great fun, im just scared it may get too repettitive... especially with the amount of hours we all put in to playing it.. maybe even skiving off work! haha.
Great work again on the game, its super fun and highly addictive!

Thank you very much for such a fantastic game! I would like to know whether in the future includes such things as:
1. The names of the players who score goals in the matches.
2. Scorers in the league table.
thanks

Amen to that dude but I want to be a versatile player like playing midfield position so that would be great to add in and I would rather be frigid cos my girlfriend is level 100 bitch so I would like to remain single and finally this might be a little bit too much to ask but to have fake names for teammates like Leo messy or Harry Torres:rolleyes:

Thanks for a great game
I bought it last summer big a big fan of the series since NSS2. I am happy for its success and wish to come with one suggestion based on my own experience with the game.
I've played it quite a lot, but always ended up finding it a bit to easy at some point. When I've completed (or nearly completed) my training exercises, I reached at point where winning the league and doing well isn't very challenging. Sure some people will reach that point quicker than me or keep on playing till they reach a very hard star-level - I don't claim to especially good at this game. I just find that I lose interest when my player reaches the age of 24 and winning the league isn't really a challenge even with weaker teams. Some might consider this the fun part, but I don't.
Personally, what I like about the game is the period of establishing me as a player and contributing to the teams success. I'll take that over blasting in 4 goals week after week, because that's just not as fun as struggling, having to deliver the tough passes and scoring on the only chance in a match. I prefer that period of the game experience, because it really takes some effort to succeed.
After having this experience of losing interest several times, I though to my self, how can I procrastinate the point where I have a player which is "to" good? And I came up with a solution: I started the game over once more and did not by a single energy drink. This makes it much harder to succeed. You will train less, because if you train to much you will ruin your relationship with the boss through showing up tired to the matches. With less training, and often lacking energy to play very long at the highest work rate this has been an amazing experience. I've reached the age of 27 before maxing out the stats and enjoyed it even more on the way.
I would therefor like to use this experience to suggest that you introduce a "advanced" or "challenging" level that places severe restrictions on the number of energy drinks you can buy (e.g. 3 pr. season). I think for many players this would add to the fun and extent the period where you really have to be at your best, because you can't rely on your superior skills to blast in a couple of long range screamer each week
Hop this is considered. I promise it's tried and tested to much enjoyment!
