Not really a bug, but since Si probably wants to keep up with the exchange rates, maybe the addons should cost 0.99€ instead of 0.79€? (as per iTunes music purchases, which cost 0.79£ and 0.99€ respectively)

edit: Si has confirmed on his twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/newstargames/status/179611860264427520) that the About issue will be fixed. Also, I can confirm that the Arcade mode runs flawlessly on a non-jailbroken iPod touch 4G running iOS 5.1. Will get back to everyone when I purchase Career Mode!

Played a season with Corby, then transfered to LAG (MLS)... Came 4th in my 1st season nut lost playoff semi. In my 2nd season i transfered to SKC and finish 3rd- won my playoff semi and final- but wen i go for the game against the WEST division playoff winner the screen just fades and freezes. It crashes upon the next relod after. After that i can load back up but the name of my final opponent is not there and the fade- crash thing happens when i press play- so i am stuck :(. Please fix this

O have spent money to build my player up so starting a new season would not b an option after only THREE seasons, minus 1 game.

Overall- decent game. **will submit official review once this bug is fixed, as is a 5star game, but 2star with the bug.

Also- not sure if a bug, but some leagues are longer/shorter than others therefore giving more/less time to train. Can u extend the shorter leagues so all finish at the same week, even if nothing happens just a week skip an tiny energy regain. Thanks

Urgh, same MLS bug as above except playing with Columbus Crew in the East division.. Won the division, and the semi- and finals of the East, then advance to the Cup and I receive notification that I am playing "%AWAYTEAM" and it lists a blank in my fixture for the final.. If I try to advance and play the final the screen sort of fades out and the app crashes.. :( Same as above poster as well, will wait to submit a review, it's a one or two star game now, but if the MLS wasn't bugged would easily be a five star game...

Hi there

Si, thanks for taking the time and trouble to make the game for our enjoyment, but, sadly, as a customer I have to express extreme unhappiness.

It's my fourth season, I've spent time building up my player, and I've got the same MLS final bug as the other players have experienced.

There doesn't appear to be any way of "skipping" the game or tracking back, so I'm now stuck with one of two choices - either start again or just give up.

I'm afraid that a bug that literally breaks the game like this means it's an automatic one star review from me, and from browsing some other forums, it appears others are having the same problem - please can you fix asap. I hope a patch is released soon, I'd like to be able to leave the 5 star review that this game deserves. As it stands, however, a bug that literally breaks the game in this way means it's an automatic one star and a very unhappy email to Apple regarding the quality control on the apps they allow to be released for their devices.

Am on a iPhone 4, btw.

The MLS bug is fixed in v1.03. This is available on Android already and under review with Apple, so hopefully by this time tomorrow you can continue your career. :)

When you start a new career, the game don't reset your cash. So you can start with a lot of money :D

An update is winging it's way to iTunes as we speak - just 'waiting for review'.

-Fixed "About" page
-Fixed MLS cup final $awayteam crash
-Fixed Load Career crash that affected some leagues (Colombia, Faroes, Iceland, Norway)
-Fixed player taking a penalty in a shoot-out after being subbed off
-Fixed achievement not being awarded after getting maximum match rating 5 times in a row

I'm now working on the next update which will add a mute button, a trial version of the career mode and various other tweaks. :)

Another point :
I was get out during cup match (out of stamina), but i was selecting to shoot penalty after extra time (In my mind, if you go out, you can't shoot penalty).

That's great Simon, looking forward towards the new update.

Btw, my NSS mobile "hanged" after the third season and stop in the page with "please wait" message. Now it's only showing the football field and nothing moves. I had to delete and re-install my NSS and start over again... hopefully it won't happen again but I also hope you could fix it before the same thing happen again.

Thought I'd report my fault here seeing as my emails to the support team has resulted in no replies :rolleyes:

Downloaded arcade mode, loved it so purchased the career mode through the game - the app then closes itself down and refuses to reopen again. I reboot my handset and try again, as soon as the app opens up a pop up appears asking for my iTunes password (I assume to verify my purchase) If I enter the password the app again closes, if I press cancel I can access the arcade mode as normal - but not the career mode I have paid for. Deleted and redownloaded the app several times with no success.

69p or not, thats not on.

What is happening?!

Edit to say, I am on iOS 5.1 using an iPhone 4S

Any valid reason why my posts never get approved by a mod? I'll post this for the 4th time now....

I bought this for use on my old 3G iPhone when I'm out and about but i found that when I try to start a career in the English leagues the game black screens and closes. I'm able to start a game in other leagues perfectly fine.

This is something I am trying to get to the bottom of but you can of course request a refund from your iTunes receipt.

The iOS update is still waiting for review. Apple are really taking the **** - it's been over 7 days now. (Android let you upload anything and take it down if it gets flagged by customers.)

So i go to play... Load my career buy £4 worth of stars as it depleted my energy even tho it was full b4 the crash- an i wanna b in tha 1st team- its the final!! So thats like £7spent altogether now an i dont mind- as im'a b playin right, wrong.

I clicked PLAY-
The game hung the crashd- did exactly the same thing- no mls final- no fix of the bug. So now ive spent £7 and cant evem play since day 2?? And early day 2 at that. I cant start a new career as all money will b lost so im stuck again...

Any suggestions Si? Plz

Damn! Really sorry, I thought it was fixed. Back to the drawing board on that one.

Could you check something for me... Have a look in the fixtures list - what date is the cup match? Then look at the date on the home screen, what does that say? And when you click to go into the next match, if you back out to the home screen, what date do you have then?

One thing, you won't lose your Star Bux as they will be transferred over to a new career.

Ok- this is messed up!!- the current date says- year 3 wk 29. Yet on my fixtures- the match i should b playing is on WK 31- the final. Its shows me as having played the semi-final already on day 29- against HOU. So its like im stuck in an eternal day.

And after pressing play- my ipad is non responsive till i shut the app, or it force quits itself.

And do the star bucks remain even if spent?? Like i spend all my bucks on NRG at a time b4 i level up- to save money and all that- so i hav only like 50star bucks in my actual account- the rest is stored in NRG drinks- and 2 of those hav even been wasted by this!

Si- did u re-submit coz im NOW downloading a new update- except this time- it actually has what is being updated on it- yesterdays update was blank- no info like it wasnt really an update! Gonna try now...

***IT WORKS!! Lost 30stars coz of 2 energy drinks that went with the hang and crash, but its works!! **dances round studio**. Any possibility of a Couple energy drinks back Si? No worries if not- just happy to b able to play again!! :) Thanks

I found 2 things - 1 bug and 1 cosmetic.

1. When getting 100% happiness, I cannot use any energy drinks. Whenever I do, I use the skill boost but then it hangs when I press on continue. My guess is that it is because there is no relation to boost.
Screenshot (http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab176/MikaelS11/0c8d9e91.jpg) shows how the screen looks like when I press 'continue'. I have to close the game and start over.

2. There is a difference in the bars of the skills when going directly into Skills Menu and boosting it with an energy drink. In the Skills Menu it fills out the whole screen, however, on the skills boost screen, the bars are only half the size, actually making you think you can upgrade it more than the 60 that is maximium. (you can upgrade it more by boots but that is only shown in the Skills Menu)

I downloaded the app, I purchased the career pack, and now my game crashes every single time I load it. That's really impressive how after I purchased the career pack the game no longer loads no matter how many times I refresh the phone / reinstall the game.

I just downloaded this last night, so I would believe it would be the most up to date application, and I am running the latest iOS.

Its a minor bug- but played a game and after the game ended i clicked the continue button an was left on a screen that just showed the pitch! - green screen lol

I exited, force quit and resumed career as normal- game seemed to b as normal- so just a minor bug

Just scored a goal from a free kick, well i should hav had the assist- yet nothing- the game acted as if the ball wasnt nestling in the back onf the net :-S pretty pissed as i lost that game 1-0 :(

Annnd- i just clocked- y are ALL of my opportunities outside of the box?? I mean my vision and pace stats are topped- surely i should get more chances in the box!?

You never get opportunities in the box. I don't think the game allows you to do this.

Then is that not a bug? Yeh it may b easy to finish but u'll get at least ONE chance like that in 2/3 games for a decent club!

Plus- in arcade mode the beggining shots are inside the box- so got me thinkin. Not like its major, but wud b nice to get a really easy opp in the dyin moments of a game wen uve gone 3 energy to try an win or sumthin!

Team AI and 'strength' should b looked at. I was Have never wom a league, and im gd!! Ive won a few cups, came 2nd with LAG, Got promotion with reading, come second with celtic**, 2nd with Arsenal 3 times (always to man city), go to barca, and guess where im sittin... LoooooL.

**with celtic i came 2nd in the 1st part of the league (til it splits) then i WON the overall league- yet i never got a medal for winning a league. Its like it reforms it in2 a cup competition halfway thru the season to deal with the scottish format :( not happy i won!! But that is why i say i came 2nd, no medal= no win right :(

The players seem the same, except for pace no matter what team im playing for in whichever league! Seems like no matter what league or club i go to- there will ALWAYS b a better team in the league... Unless i get lucky in most games scoring 3 a game from silly angles when logic sez pass...

In some games its like the other team IS MEANT to win, if u understand. Like i'll hav 2/3 chances an none within range of goal. Or they score 3 in a row, etc. Ive had A LOT of last min goals against my team as well to draw.

I have the same problem with the last mn goals... it's really frustrating... 80th mn, we lead 2-0 against a club, and the 82: goal , 84 : goal, 87 : goal... We lost 3-2... And the worst : I was in "full power" : so interception pop up, no chance to avoid that.

Other strange point I get yesterday. I was in a "Eng Prem" league (in the BlackB club, sorry, I'm french and not a big fan of "real" soccer, So I don't know the real names). Everything was alright, 100% with team, arount 80% with GF, Boss, Fan... We are 5th of the league... And during the transfert they propose to go in "conf sth", the 22th club of the league (the last one !!)... 3 times in a row they propose me to go to this club (no change of club or something else).

I finally negociate and accept... And now, i get stuck in this team... Easy to goal, but a nightmare for passing (the guys move really really slowly)...

So now, i have to wait to try to have an opportunity for my dream team (Arsenal !) :D

Hi. Installed the game today on iPhone 3GS; IOS 5.1. In my second season a cup game came to penalties and my character was picked to shoot the 3:d one. Upon loading the pitch opposition goalie ran sideways and game froose. It's not possible to take the penalty. Please reply for more info. Thanks!

It's purely because it's a bit tricky bringing up the relationship/skill boost pages mid match.

I'm looking into the wandering goalkeeper bug. Should be fixed in the next update. :)

I was playing today on my Ipad, with latest update and i noticed 2 things. I'm in my 11th season i think it is, and star rank of 35, and in the winter market i get that i got sold to some spain B league team, this didn't bother me much although it's not what you could say normal, i just refused the offer, but then when the season ended that same team "bought" me again. I was playing for Barça and that team was "Hurval" from spain B3

Then in this same season i was playing the national cup, and i won first game 3-2, then lost the other 2-3, so we went to extra time and there I scored, so the match ended 3-3 and I was supposed to win the match, but instead of ending the match we had penalties, so obviously somethings bad there.

Keep the good work :D

Edit: And one last bug I remembered from few days ago, I passed the ball to a team mate, he shot and the GK stopped it, but the ball still went in but my team didn't get the goal, just got the "chance missed" thing, but this doesn't always happens, I got the goal when this same thing happened in another match, I think it might happen if there's too much time between the GK stopping the ball and this getting in.

thebioblivion, can you please confirm you can play Arcade mode? I have a friend with an iPod touch 2G who can play Arcade mode, but not sure about career mode (he hasn't purchased it). It could be easier to find the cause of your problem if you can't play Arcade mode.

I passed the ball to one of my team mates, they took a shot at goal. The keeper dived and saved it, the ball then bounced back into the net but we didn't get given a goal.

I'm running the game with the latest update on my 4S. I've come across the following bugs:

- Mid-season offers from Conference South clubs, despite starring for Spurs in the Premier League. As an aside, having the 'accept contract' button in the same place as the 'advance' button has probably led to a few inadvertent transfers ;)
- Passes and goals not registering when a teammate and opposition player get to the ball at the same time
- Goals not registering when it bounces off the keeper

Hi all

Can i just start by saying what a awesome game. Bought it for my iphone, played all day & hard as nails it seems, they always win even if score a hatrick.

I then bought it for my 1st gen iPad as my brother did as he was banging in the goals for fun. I on the other hand was playing fine on iPhone but when l tried to start a new game on my iPad it just gets to the profile page & then closes the app down, is this something to do with Gamecentre or anything.

Can anyone help, as l'd really like to play this on my iPad if possible. I'm thinking whether to delete the iPhone version & see if that works but dont really want to do that as l'll probably lose my save, but if it's neccessary l'll do it.

I have downloaded the update for iphone and after 6 games have received a bye in the league cup 3rd round and now it keeps crashing and won't progress any further. Also the screen just gets darker. Help I'm 13 seasons in a really don't want to start again.

I think I found a bug: I'm playing in Arsenal, and in the CL Semi-final against Real Madrid, first match result: RMA 1-2 ARS, second match: ARS 2-2 RMA with extra time, but the match ending with penalties, and Real Madrid win it, and going to the final. I think isn't good :)

Just got to the end of the League Season with Chelsea (finishing 3rd) and I'd made the Europa League Final. I get called up to play for England in the next match, play and win that match and then the display tells me Chelsea have won the Europe League but I never got to play in it :(

Following on from the above, I'm in the Champions League in Season 4 and won a game and I get the 'Win Continental Club Match' which is wrong as in the previous season I'd won games in the Europa League.

Great game by the way, very very addictive :)

I'm at the end of season 8 with Barcelona. When I try to transfer to Fulham (my team) at the end of the season after I negotiate and accept the deal, the app crashes and when I reload it, it's at the end of season 8 again. In previous seasons it only doesn't crash if I stay at Barca.

I'm on career mode with BLYTH and i just finished my second year, a screen then came up asking if i wanted to see other interested clubs or stay with BLYTH and no matter what I select, it always crashes: if i select the stay with blyth option, it crashes, if i select the see clubs option, then it crashes after i negotiate a contract. please help!

I'm guessing this is a bug given it could well happen in RL this weekend.

I finished 5th with Chelsea in the Premier League but then went on to Win the Champions League, so I assumed I'd get Champions League the following season however I'm in the Europa League instead.

I'm in year 16, playing v1.11

In career mode it wont go to the next game, screen goes dark around the edges as if its trying to go to the game screen and it just hangs there, then the game terminates.
Works fine in arcade mode.

I'm having the same end of season contract crashing too.

Have had to stick with Lazio for past 5 seasons because of it.

Hiya,

Can I first of all say thankyou for such a superb addictive game.

I currently only have one problem and it's been reported above, that I can't actually join another club at the end of the season as the App will hang and then crash everytime. I've also experienced mid-season offers from much lower placed clubs (currently at Aberdeen, getting offers from Arbroath).

Posting to report I also have the "game played without me" bug. Playing in the Brazilian league, apparently the game scheduled 4 games for the same week. One for the Brazilian Cup, one for the Libertadores, and two for the Brazilian league. I did not play on the Cup and Libertadores games, only on the Brazilian league ones. Very frustrating, especially since we lost the Libertadores one :/

I have had the game since release and I am in my 7th season. I have also updated the game using the most recent update. I don't seem to be able to access internationals. There are no fixtures on my fixture list and I have not been called up yet. Please advise

I am playing on an iPad 2 (but also have the same problem on my iPhone 4s)

Had been playing through the game for about a season and now I cannot open the app which is a huge dissatisfaction as I was enjoying it greatly. It always comes up with " Monkey runtime error alcMakeContextCurrent failed " and I was hoping this could be fixed. But thanks, it was a good game until this point and once the error has been fixed I can pass good words about this app to my work peers etc. From Michael/Andy

Brilliant game but have found what I think is a bug.

After an international game the post match screen suggests that I've been paid my full quota of sponsorship money but when I go to the home screen the balance hasn't increased.

Ack, I missed a Champs 16 2nd Leg game because of an England match and we lost the tie. Bums :-/ On latest iOS release and about 8th Season if that helps.

game works before i had to purchase the career pack.
then with the wifi on the game crashes on start up everytime, turn wifi off and it will play in arcade and at the start of a new career every time.
got all the latest updates and ipod software on board, uninstalled and reinstalled game yet its made no difference.

anyone got a solution please so i can continue with the career mode.

Just started playing the latest version (http://www.newstarsoccer.com/images/flashgame/nss102.swf) and found a really odd bug. At the start of season 4 I try to play the first game (in Europe) but nothing happens. Then I notice my condition bar is decreasing even though the game hasn't started - I only managed to get it going when the managed dropped me. Next season, the very same thing happened again. I sometimes go glimpses of the match, but no ball appeared on the kick screen. I also noticed that no clubs were interested in me during the summer, which I though was a bit odd - I have a 17* rating so thought someone would want me. Anyone else seen this?

If it matters, I'm playing for Boden in Sweden.

Update: I transferred half-way through the next season and it didn't happen again; possibly because I didn't qualify for Europe?

Just found another glitch, I smacked a shot for about 40 yards and it hit the post and just stuck there at the base of the post - the game wouldn't continue. I had to reload to fix.

im glad you guys can play it.
ive paid for the season package and the game crashes everytime on startup when wifi is on which you need turned on to access the package.
no one seems to have an idea about this and no one cares because they have had the money.

go to itunes and see the amount of people who have the same problem i do.loads on them and no answers.

Hi There

I downloaded the game last night and bought the season package, really enjoyed it, however at the end of the first season (just as season 2 was about to begin I guess) I got an error pop up Titled 'Monkey Error' and description 'Monkey runtime error : Segmentation violation'. I couldnt start the game again after this. I tried uninstalling and re-installing and all was fine until the same point in my new game, just as season 2 was about to begin it crashed again with the same error.

Apologies if there is a fix to this already on these forums, I couldnt find any with a rudimentry search (if there is 1, can someone point me in the right direction)

Using ipad 2 and iOS 5.0.1

Please help, got quickly addicted and need to get to season 2....

Hello,

I have two bugs to report:
1)In the skills buildup screen, Power. I kicked the ball besides the goal, yet the ball rolled back to the behind of the goal and it triggered a goal. Not 100% sure but fairly!

2) When playing any match, you have the ligue in the upper left corner and the two team names below.
When the team name is long, its located at the bottom of the rectangle area.
Maybe a smaller font should be used?
Or even better: make the ligue name smaller and put it higher and place the two team names below it.

I updated the game a small amount of time ago and startes getting into the game. When I tries buying the full version I was taken to the Star Bux menu and got a message saying "Could not connect to shop" This got me confused so I tried to go on the App store o see if anyone posted something like it in the reviews. But the game was nowhere to be found. I hve searched all over the app store trying to find it and have had no luck. I have turned my phone off and on again, removed the app from my active apps (Double tapping the home button) I don't want to delete the app because if it isn't on the app store I won't be able to download it. Any ideas??

Club 'Standard' (Belgium) and 'Moldava' (country) are (I think) too long for the screen, they are about 0,5 centimeter lower than the name of the other clubs on the game screen.

And I believe I had a free kick inside of the penalty area, not sure tho'. Forgot to take a screenshot.

Had a ball that went in via the keeper, but it didn't count.

I currently have an issue where I cannot buy boots due to a bug error coming up saying 'monkey runtime error: memory access violation'. Everything else seems fine as in I can continue selecting other actions. Looks like I might have to start a new career. Sorry I don't know how to get a screenshot.

Was there a bug addressed on the season screen? I'm talking about the page which showed a breakdown of your goal and assists across all of your played seasons (not the trophy screen). There was an issue where I couldn't scroll down but that seems to have been resolved now.

I apologise if someone has already posted this bug but...
When I start a new game and start to do the skills the game will crash. The first time the game crashed was just before I went onto 2nd skill (free kicks I think), after that I tried again and now it crashes when I click okay to start the power skill and this happens every time so I cant can't even play the game. At first I thought it may not have downloaded properly but I redownloaded it twice so yeah. Please find a solution ASAP, thankyou!!

Sorry about that Bubka. You shouldn't have to purchase the career mode again, just go to Options > Restore to restore your purchase. Unfortunately you cannot restore your save or bux.

Nope I found that out.

It seems I only get the error when looking at the interested club at the end of a season. I just managed to continue on 2nd season, but that was without looking at the clubs.

If I had the option to have more saves, I'd be happy to test it some more ,but... ;)

Hi Simon, Every now and then a game goes by without me actually playing it, often a club game which follows an international game. I usually get told I've lost that game and it's cost me a few cup runs! Love the app apart from that though.

Needs a new update. Love the game btw. Every time i open and load career mode i can only train or play one game. Once the game goes back to the main career area the game will crash once you try to attempt another game or training. The game dosent crash if you attempt two sessions of training selected on the same screen. Only after you go back to the main career mode screen does it crash.
Hope this helps, got really into this, its a shame its so frustrating to play atm.

I finished first season and wanted to browse through interested teams. However, I got the 'Monkey Error - Monkey Runtime Error: Memory access violation' error. I tried restarting the app a few times, but no luck.

Now when I load NSS, I get the error, meaning my game is unplayable.

iOS: 6.0.2 (10A551)
Device: iPhone 5

I have the exact same problem, finished my first season in the San Marino league, tried to move up to a team in a higher division and received 'monkey error - Monkey runtime error: memory access violation'. Very annoying as its making the game unplayable which is a shame as I was having a great time with it!
