View Full Version : Frustrating

I'm enjoying NSS5, it's definitely the best in the series yet.

Still I'm very frustrated at some mechanics of the game:

Any foul I receive leads to an injury. It happens with about 90% of the fouls I get. <-- probably my main problem in the game
Some trainings are so easy. Passing is extremely hard, and the training for stealing the ball is even worse, definitely unbalanced. And god knows I train a lot, because I'm always injured by all fouls.
My team is completely useless. This probably has to do with the poor power of my team (nevermind that it's a former world champion), but it's too much. My goalkeeper's gotta hate to play for the team. You'd expect after I win relevant titles the team would improve by way of getting richer and signing better players but it's impossible to be a champion there if I don't score about 2+ goals in every single game. It's just plain unrealistic , frustrating. Which leads me to my next argument.
The problem of no one playing well in my team is that, by doing all the work alone, I simply can't pass to my stupiud teammates. The manager hates me for that, because instead of passing I shoot for the goal.
In any team in the world, the player that shoots on target is considered dangerous and a rare commodity. It's the opposite on NSS, the more you shoot, the less you rate. No logic in that.
Before subbing me out of a game where I'm kicking a lot of balls to the goal and not passing to stupid teammates, he should consider the fact that I'm the only one that has immense grades and over 80 goals in a 50-match season.
I'm the only player in any match to ever get yellow and red cards. Cards are an interesting part of football, players should be off more or less often.

You can use the lob and shoot buttons for the passing training, which should make it much easier. Make sure your flair is high too, so that you can bend the ball back through the cones if it is off line.
I find the stealing the ball one extremely easy actually... isn't much to it, just follow the ball and tackle. You can slide from behind if the players have their backs turned, there aren't any fouls in training.

Just out of curiosity, what team are you playing for?

The problem of no one playing well in my team is that, by doing all the work alone, I simply can't pass to my stupiud teammates. The manager hates me for that, because instead of passing I shoot for the goal.

If you run towards the touchline at the edge of the penalty area. If you're playing a 4-4-2 formation, there should be the other striker following up and somewhere near the penalty spot. When you are right at the end line, cut the ball back using a floor pass and he should score an easy goal, giving you the assist. The boss will definitely be pleased with that and so will your team mates.

The logic in that is that in real life, if a player has many shots but can't score, regardless of how well the goalkeeper does, it's considered a poor performance. A striker's job is to score goals, and if he doesn't then he's not doing his job. (I am assuming you're playing as a striker here.

I have seen the AI players get cards, but it is rare, as you said. Personally, I would like to see more cards handed out to AI players for fouls.

I hope I have helped in some way :) Remember to check out my guide to NSS5 if you require further help. (link is in my signature)

There are two types of tackling trainings, one with a wheel of guys passing the ball around (really easy, just hold any button and wait for someone to make a mistake) and the other is smoking hard in higher levels (I think it is) in which you tackle the cones with a time limit. That shows the lack of balance I spoke of.

That logic about the shots on target, c'mon, it's absurd. I know you must be right, but that's a frustrating way of handling it in this game. In real life football, shots on target are shots on target.

Playing for Gremio (BR) as a central attacking midfielder.

And thanks for the tips and the guide, will look into them.

I am having major problems with the injury thing too!
