I had the same problem, but someone suggested drinking alchohol to solve the confidence problem. It works, get some drink down you and your confidence will improve

I found it best to sit out for a while, doing nothing but training, so that you can do better when you play, it's a better way of keeping the confidence up. Perhaps you could do this to get out of your hole: train until you feel you're more ready, then if you don't have the confidence to play, drink until you do, and request to rest a match until you're no longer drunk.

Begin in a Conference team, it's much easier (and begin in Amateur level too). In fact, I scored 9 (!) goals in a single match at the week 16 or 17 (don't remember exactly).

Yah, if u're not ready to play top notch in your league at 17.. than, use your energy into developing SKILLS and spend your money on ENERGY DRINKS.. sit on the bench and cheer the guys that play on..

than by the time u're 19.. U should be quite good, and ready to contribute.

as in previous NSS games start in a lower division i.e. Im english and I always starts in the conference league, and as in NSS2 work purely on my stamina first.

Remember it also depends on your manager some managers will boast your skills others wont, some wont mind you giving the man of the match interview and going out on the town again other managers wont like that.

Its your career you can choose you own path thats the gem of NSS you can build yourself up and become the best or you can be a party boy

I start in Sweden so I have to start in the highest league. First season I scored three goals, sounds good but they all came in the same match. When I was 18 I got some real bad behaviour on the field and got atleast one yellow card per game, so I had a lot of time to train. Then when I was 19 I started to score every game I played, so it is just about training...

Yes, like has been said, spend some matches not playing, instead increasing your skills. Fitness are the best ones to train up first, as the pace will always give you an extra edge, and the stamina will help you regain energy faster.

If your an attacker or midfielder, the next thing you should do is really train up your shooting ability, and then dribbling. Midfielders should also add a touch of passing and tackling in there, but generally (i play as midfielder) if you can shoot on-target, you will either score, or the keeper will save it and it will fall to an attacker to put the rebound in - meaning you get the assist, helping you get better match-ratings.

Point taken about having to start in a top level.. it's much easier in England where you can start at the likes of York.

Plan is however to try and add levels to existing leagues.

What are peoples thoughts on adding lower levels of the existing leagues where possible, just so you can start at a lower level in your country? The players wouldn't be real though, but they should have lower stats, meaning you can get match experience sooner?

Cant you just copy the names from FM2006 and then make those leagues? That would be lazy and easy...

Ohh, that'll make things hard in the smaller leauges. Perhaps I'll just fix something for myself instead if I got some spare time over...

Thinking about it, i know its late for me to think of this now, but maybe it could go in NSS4, perhaps if your at a bigish club and are not getting a game, you could be sent out on loan to a smaller club to gain some experience before returning an improved player...

It's easier if you put your pace and stamina the highest. then you literally just have your team hoofing it over the top for you and you run onto it. I average 1-3 goals a game with 8-14 shots.

I believe that's the way forward. Research can only cover so much thanks to the difficulty in finding info on lower leagues, even if you live there. But the teams and colours are often forthcoming.

Better to have a lower level side with fake players than to pretend the side don't exist.

Right then, what I'll do later is create lower level leagues for as many countries as possible, and leave the players blank for now until they get worked on. That way you can hopefully experience the 'Conference-like' start of your career in your native country.

Go down to the Conference if you're finding it hard. I trained for about five weeks and now have got man of the matches, 10s and loads of goals every game since. :D

Does that actually work? I mean, will the game create fake players for the teams if they're blank on starting a new game, or is it something that has to be done on your end for a patch update?

It should work, I'll test tomorrow if Si doesn't let me know any better first.

I think it works. But then i thought the game was bug free on Friday.

If there is a Names.dat with plenty of random names for the country then it should be fine. If the names.dat is rather short of names it uses the XFNames and XLNames files which is a complete mix of different countries names. So you might get some strange combinations like Mohammed Svenson or whatever.
